Rant & Rave - WMC '09 **LOCALS EDITION**

So.. keyword in the thread title is locals. Maybe we can have this open if other people don't mind.
I kinda wanna know what the FLTA's are doing - not the whole entire TA community.
Soo.. My RAVE is gonna be Sunday School @ The Ice Palace cuz it is just going to be like a mini festival - I have no doubt.
My RANT will be about - the lack of day parties that are announced so far. haha. I don't get in till wednesday night or else I would prob hit up that cheap 10$ "opening" party....
Juicy beach party has Zabs & Glaude and Edgar but boatloads of crap - who I don't care to see. |

Yeah I agree with you Juicy party had a way better line up last year. I never been to Sunday School before how is it....? I wonder if the music would cater to me...?
I am waiting for Space's line up and hopefully SVD will land somewhere on the bill. Other than that I am already going to attend SOS @ Bed. |

my rant is that WMC has gotten pretty lame...sorry but it's just toooooo much house!! Last year was the funk at least cuz I got to see Adam Sheridan, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, John Askew & John O'Callaghan for $20 people I've NEVER seen and it was good!!
We need more parties like that.
My WMC goal is also to attend more day parties esp now haha ;) no enclosed smokey ass clubs. Hopefully they have a good day beach party, I'll most def be at that but that $10 party no matter how cheap I can't see myself going lol I'm anti boring house...uuuggggh snoooooze! |

Yeah but you know Miami is house ran and it sucks!! I am a trance guy but hey I like house too just to a limit though. It can't be like house, house, house, house, and more house you know...? Gotta switch it up lol. Space books too much house someone needs to tell them to get a new person who does the bookings!!!
I just hope to see Eddie Halliwell rip it up this WMC and some more banging trance parties. |

I'm all for GOOD house...I love tech house & tribal but the house DJ's they book are always the same and fuking boring! I can't, for the life of me, get into David Guetta or Erick Morillo's type of house, I've tried but no didn't work! I'd rather stab myself in the eye. I dunno give me a good tech house tribal tech funky house DJ and I'll be happy...I need something to dance to with a nice kicking beat not diva fag vocal house .
I am also super fuking ANTI minimal and a lot of DJ's think that is hott which is super lame which is why ATM I currently dislike SvD. Until he plays like I know he's capable of playing I will continue to dislike him...I began liking him back in 04 when he was still undiscovered & pumping some sick ass . His productions now are just as lame as his performances. |

Well Funkagenda is coming to the main room and terrace of Space on 2/14 and I never seen him hopefully that should be decent at least! Yeah too much Morillo is not my taste. SVD has been banging it out on his identities though and his Space show in December was epic!! I will see him this WMC and evaluate how he has gotten.
I like when Eddie Halliwell spins house too cause man can mix it up nice! |

you mean SvD of Dec 07? I thought that was his worst set IMO
Favorite was DEFFFF WMC 07 @ The Fifth!! That nite was epic for real & he played also really good a couple days after @ Karu & Y WMC 07...the first time @ Space too but that Dec I thought was pretty lame.
Hopefully he lays off the minimal and gets back to his roots.
Eddie Halliwell is pretty good, hope to see him again but I REALLY wanna see Adam Sheridan, that man killed it! |

Im going to stay away from overpriced same ol' same ol' big dj's & go for the underground.. If I can help it I will only be attending shows featuring Fidget house, tech funk & Indie Dance/Dance rock artists..
I may also make my way to 1 good DnB event.. FSOB vs. Viram is looking dope on that tip.. |

Techno seems to be taking over this year! Well - I kinda want house.. but I want good house.. and I don't even know who is good anymore.
House - I don't mind for day parties. I think they kinda go hand in hand.
I don't want to see Sasha - Sasha is just like Armin..... you have to sit through a snooze first few hours and wait for the last hour to be absolutely bonkers.
I can't deal with that. I would like to catch JZ at a beach party - His energy is always fun behind the decks and the crowd responds well with him.
Other than that - I have no fuking clue.
Honestly atm - it's only SSD for me. . I dunno if the music will cater to you Snats - But I am sure it will. It's techno so there will be no build ups or hands in the air type .. But it's gonna be filled with massive dj's so I have no doubt you can find something you will like. |

No way his set was good in Dec of 07. I was there for the Fifth too, Did the whole meet up thing at Monty's now that was an experience. So you like the full on banging trance SVD. His style has evolved so now it is much different. His new collab. with Marco V is a nice track! I am not talking about Organic either. |

OOH yeah - Eddie Halliwell is another fun dj I would like to catch.
I want fun and I want dj's who have fun too! Eddie & Zabs are awesome for that!
edit - i also like to sterr clear from Space during WMC. way too crowded. I prefer just going whenever I visit |
