I need advices on PSP Vintage Warmer alternatives...
I'm looking for a low CPU usage one, because PSP's overloading my CPU and causing delay to the entire project.

I'm on Macbook Pro 2.4 running Logic 8 Pro

tks guys

Maybe get a clue? Ram != CPU.

The answer is simple, don't do your mastering while you're mixing.

well if he had more memory he would just be able to master as he mixes so he wouldn't have another go at it

thats how i roll ;)

No that's where you're wrong. Plugins like vintagewarmer use more processing power then they use ram. He would most likely need a faster computer for it to work properly.

Ram is mostly used up by sample based plugins and samples in general (for fast access to the sounds) where as synthesizers and effect plugins need more processing power (live sound generation instead of sample-based).

Alternatives to Vintage warmer?

UAD precision maximizer can sound similar and imo sounds alot more natural than vintage warmer.

Sonox inflater followed by sonox limiter can give a warmth and extreme loudness if thats what you want?

both on the right idea but wrong plugs imo. UAD(which DOES NOT use your CPU) Fairchild and/or UAD Pultec will naturally add warmth to ur sounds. Sonnox is a good recomendation but the Dynamics plug actually has a warmth knob/feature built in! that one sounds great as well
