What Will People Think Of Trance In The Future?

Ever wonder what people will think of trance music in 10 years? 20? 100? Well as things are the 70's was disco and now everyone regrets that move. The 80's was pure rock and the later 80s and early 90s until now has been dance. Trance has been in for well over 10 years now but in 2010 will people say "Wow in the 2000's people would spike their hair up and hold glowing rods as they danced, gathering by the thousands to be at massive parties like Woodstock in earlier days, what were these people thinking? Or will people say "Wow, the start of a brand new era, I wish that I would havepayed more attention and not shrugged it off as a 10 year or so fad.

Personally I think that this kind of music will live on forever as their are always new budding DJ's and with all the potential this music has (ie. not only making ur own music but also remixing the work of others which doesn't happen much in rap and rock music) I think that this music will live on forever or a damn long time (ie. until music is prohibited and we have flying cars and eat tiny pills which are all the nutrients of normal food without the additives lol :D).

What are your views on the subject?

It's a good idea to speak about the future, but when I look the best 5 forever in an other thread, I see that a lot of peoples put track between 98-00 ... Eh guys, there is a life before Universal nation and Binary Finary 1998!!!

Ohoh, the subject is a little bit different ...

I just copy/paste the answer of Laurent Veronez (Airwave):

More commerical and more progressive at the same time coz progressive is now becoming the leading genre in trance. Look at Tiesto, he plays progressive and more commercial stuff at the same time! A good dj! A brilliant man also!

I have often wondered the same thing.

I think , as everything does, trance will evolve in years to come. While it may not become extinct, you have to wonder if we would be able to recognize it. :conf: :eyes: :conf:

there are quite a few remixes in Rap..

but besides that, I think the trance we know today will not be made in 10 years.. Im sure there will be something with a similar nature, but not like this. Just take a look at how much electronic music has changed in the last 10 years... it used to be so much less complex as it is now-a-days.. when I listen to some old 93' dance tracks, there's like 4 sounds in it, total, now its hard to keep track of all the sounds in a track (speaking from a production view).

And as many people are saying, Progressive is becoming bigger, and trance is slowing down alittle, in terms of track releases.

I wouldnt doubt in 10 years trance would be sounding more like progressive than anything else. i think people will get tired of trance if it doesnt evolve. why does music die out? cause people don't like it. why? cause it gets boring.

it will be very interesting to see peoples view on our "current trance" in like 40 years. it should be hillarious :haha:

well, after 10 years and my thoughts are that it has gone in the commercial direction with its 4/4 non-stop bass kick. compare pvd's for an angel LP mix to the e-werk club mix and hear the difference.

bombs away : ).

Compare a remix of a rap song and then all the cafe del mar remixes there are or all the binary finary remixes. Each trance song has about as many remixes as like at least 3 rap songs if not more. Rock rarely gets remixed but trance by far has the most remixes and remixers.

Sven Vath already thinks its a load of bollocks.

I’m thinking that well maybe there will be an increase in liking electronic muzik in general … and then maybe just die off later on… (Knock on wood)

If you look at the history of muzik from church songs to party favors with Mozart to swinging war songs to rocking beetles to M&M rap…… there is a favorite type of style for a cretin time era.

Generations change.. maybe we are at the beginning of an Electronic generation. I certainly hope we are, I hope the universal style of fast moving songs with a great beat will have an increase in liking to world and make it more world wide as well admired …

K that’s more or less a dream that can be full filled

REALITY….

Trance will be just the same.. I’m presuming that it will still have that underground view of it… I doubt it will turn into an out beat thing on the radio where you will be able to listen to PVD or tiesto or sasha or whoever when you tune in to your radio.. only because of how our society works..

True I see it in that way 2. Trance is already futuristic therefore will never get old therefore will be around forever therefore all TA's live happily ever after.
