edit: btw does it have firewire? if not toss it

I'd much rather have the space for adding hard drives and PCIe cards.

The forthcoming imacs with the i7 cpus will be blisteringly quick. There is absolutely no need
for any more power for music production. Honestly. I can manage with my puny 1.83ghz too btw. :)
The forthcoming mac pro with dual xeon i7 cpus is said to be amazingly quick.
And with the osx 10.6 upgrade in the horizon, that shreds some lard off leopard,
and increased multicore support - things are looking veery promising. :toocool:
Hopefully logic 9 will come out not too long after. Itīs in itīs beta stages, apparently.
And itīs rock solid, itīs said - whatever that means.

I'm always buying new hard drives and wishing I had more space, so I'm going with a yes. More important are the PCIe slots though.

i just bought a 1gb external disk, should cover me for a long time.
when it comes to PCI i dont know what u really need there, a better graphiccard?

Don't be silly. Everyone knows about DSP cards like TC Powercore or UAD-2, not to mention higher end audio interfaces that are PCIe based.

Besides, with plugins like Omnisphere coming out that suck up to 40gb and Logic Pro 8 with all installed its 7 DVDS so 250gb is nothing actually...

Beyer: Still want to know where you read about Logic 9 beta, i've searched for it with no luck :(

Someone say Logic 9? :eyes:

Zild what is the benefits with PCI audio interfaces against fireware?? Fireware is very fast too, and I think the fireware is idustry standard nowadays so you cant go wrong with it..Ok, if you have 7000e to spend on protools tdm then you need pci. And i think uad is not necesarry, theres is lot of good plugs out there.

Hey! Check you inbox! Itīs just a rumor that the next update for logic, will jump it straight to number 9.
I suppose the changes would be big, since they might jump it to numer 9.
They better deliver though.. Just two updates since they launched logic 8 is pretty damn
pathetic to any standards imo.

The BETTER have editable frozen regions this time! :whip: (basic stuff - copy paste - move around - mixer volume automation:wtf: )
