Does he use the cross fader much? And the numarks have all the same things as you mentioned only no BPM counter. Those run 80 bucks on their own. Soooo these things are either way under priced or not great quality. ANd I'm goign to assume if they were SOOO good for that low a price, then everyone would own a Behringer. You guys can buy whatever you want, I'm picking up the numark today and I know it's going to work well.

mmmm I have read your post .... I think im gonna buy the VMX 300 .... I want kill switches...

BTW the cross-fader is not important for me ... I dont use fader when I mix ....

so his the 300 a waste of money or im better with the 200 ?

DJ-Kuza why do u think the VMX300 is crappy ? please give me real arguments
DJ-Kuza
ok here are a few real arguments for why I bought the Numark 3001X instead of the VMX 300. The 3001X is more expensive than the 3000X, but I wanted kill switches.

1. The VMX 300 is the same price as a numark 3000X yet it has indypendant pfl meters, BPM counter and kill switches. 3 features that should bring ANY mixer to the $500 range.

2. No one here will even carry them anymore, you have to order them. The main sound store here has everything from gemini to techs to Vestax. They carry every brand or mixer, carts, lights, speakers. ANd they told me they WON'T deal with Behringer.

3. The only person I know with one tried to bring it back because of bleeding and was told the mixers are low quality and will bleed. No refund.

4. If they WERE as good as they look, everyone in the world would be using Behringer right now. As it is, they are dropping the line. What does that tell you?
fastmp3
what do you mean by bleeding ?
DJ-Kuza
Bleeding is when you bring the crossfader all the way to the left, and then all of a sudden hear the right side come back in. Sometimes with a lot of static. So it bleeds from the other channel.
fastmp3
why does it happen ?????
DJ-Kuza
It's hard to explain. All you need to know, is a quality product shouldn't bleed. It's as if you take your 2 channel volume faders and glue them together feet to toe. When you go up with one you're going down with the other. If you go all the way up with your right channel, your left chanel should be gone, but with bleeding, at the end of the line you can hear the other channel. It's like when you bring down your right channel and at the bottom your left one kicks in.

but Im not usige the cross fader ... and I heard by some Dj In Quebec , numark is not a good brand ..... its easy to break ....
EldamRy
but dude you said the numark dm3000x have kill sitch and bpm counter ... where is it ?

DJ-Kuza
Well maybe you need to re-read and realise I said I bought the 3001X because I wanted the kill switches. I said the VMX300 was the same price as the 3000X but has all those extra features. So no, I never said the 3000X has kill switches.

As for the quality of numark, I've been using the 1001X for 3 years. Not a problem, and they will fix it if there is. They are far from top of the line, but if Behringer was so good, they would be as popular as numark.

The Behringer brand produces quality proaudio equipment and studio mixers like the DDX3216, V-AMP, B2031, GX112, MX3242X. This pro audio has been aimed at the producer/performer side of the music industry. These products received rave in the International Trade Press. Read Here
Recently they started developing mixers for the DJ. I think the DMX series came out in March 2002! As part of their marketing strategy, they decided to introduce a quality, feature loaded mixer, with a relatively low price. The goal is to get the Behringer name out there in the DJ'ing community. Unlike Numark, Vestax and Gemini the Behringer main revenue source is not DJ mixers. They do not need the same margins as other brands to turn a profit.

If you knew the production price of some top of the line Ranes, Pioneers etc., and the production price of Vestax, Stantons...the difference is less than 50%, but the retail price of Ranes and Pioneers are more than 100% more.
