Oh wait, novels....

hahaha, my sisters and I used to watch that way back when!

As for a good novel?

Well, if you're into Stephen King, then I suggest you read

"Four Past Midnight," which is a collection of four novellas: The Langoliers; Secret Window, Secret Garden; The Library Policeman (my personal favorite); and The Sun Dog.

"IT" is fantastic.

and if you're looking to mix it up a little, I recommend, The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls--but it ain't no horror novel.

One of the few novels I have read, Number the Stars, was pretty good.

I don't read fiction. It just doesn't interest me.

It's from when I was in high school and we had no choice but to read fiction for english class.

If you like horror, try out some Lovecraft.

Understandable, but give it another shot. A well-spun story can carry so much more meaning than any other literary vehicle.

That's because they haven't invented the pornodoco yet. I'm sure men of all ages would learn a lot more if someone finally bothered to shoot documentaries about science/religion/philosophy with pornstars. Intelligent Design enthusiasts should probably give it a try.

Here, I've got the perfect introductory scene. A professor is nailing a nun in the classroom:

Prof: "Is creationism scientific?"
*thump thump thump*
Nun: "Yes! Yes! Yes!"
*thump thump thump*
Prof: "Oh, that's good. And who designs the creatures?"
*thump thump thump*
Nun: "Oh My God, Oh My God!"
*thump thump thump*
Prof: "Good, good. And are you coming to the same conclusion I'm coming?"
*thump thump thump*
Nun: "Oh, yes, I'm coming, I'm coming!!!"
*thump thump thump*

...

I think I can spare you of the rest, but it's pretty convincing, isn't it? :D

I went to the local bookstore on my lunch break but they didn't have any of the titles you guys suggested. I guess I'll order them from Amazon or something. In the meantime I got myself stocked on Stephen King :p

I got "The Shining", "The Stand", "Four Past Midnight", and the first book of the "Dark Tower Series": "The Gunslinger".

But please, keep the suggestions coming! :)

Regarding Stephen King:
1) Do not buy his newer books. They suck.
2) The Dark Tower is a matter of taste. I didn't like it, but many people do. Try the first book and see if it suits you.
3) His best works imho include IT, The Stand, The Green Mile, Dolores Claiborne, Misery, Shining, The Mist and Pet Sematary
4) Stay away from: Gerald's Game, Insomnia, Dreamcatcher, Rose Madder, Cujo and The Tommyknockers
5) Download my latest mix!

Thanks for tip, Meat ;)

From the ones I bought: The Shining, Four Past Midnight, The Stand, The Gunslinger...which one would you recommend reading first?
