1 thing I have noticed while using my Xone 92 over the past month and half is that i rarely if ever go above 12 o'clock now on any of the EQ's.
I'll always compensate the Eq's by decreasing them rather than increasing them. It's weird as I used to be all over the shop on my last mixer.
I think it's mainly down to the fact that there's only +6 db increase on any of the EQ's which really does sweet FA to the sound.
Obviously I include the usual TA disclaimer that I have every now and again increased an EQ blah blah but just saying i don't as much on my 92.

Also, note that there's a 1ms lag between the send and the receive. I've done multiple testing, and when the EFX is not set at ByPass, if you put your crossfader of 92 to the middle, you will have an echo in your sound, which is caused by a 1ms delay from your original sound to your efx output. This is why I used the ON/OFF thing as crossfader.
I don't understand what you mean by using the EFX two channels at the same time. Do you mean sending 2 channels to the EFX ? If so it's very easy, just turn the AUX SEND knob on the second channel, as you did for the first ... it will send both signals to the EFX and it will return in 1 channel. You cannot return the EFX on 2 separate channels, it has only 1 output, unless you split it, but this is useless. If you wanna use multiple sources, play with the AUX SEND knobs, this is the correct way on a studio mixer ;)
Hope this helps ;) |
Aha! thanks man! Really, i did not know that there was a 1ms delay in the send output to the efx!
That just makes the djm800 fx solution even better ;)
But i want a 92 and im gonna either wait for Serato+Ableton app that they are making, or buy traktor scratch!
All im asking for is an echo fx.. the rest i dont need :)
Yes! i did mean if i would want to send to channels to efx. That sounded easy.. jus coming back in one channel.
But when you switch the crossfader on the 92 very very fast, is there a slighest difference / notice of sound change? |

Ive noticed i dont go past 0db on any of my eqs either. I donno its something about keeping it sounding as pure as possible for me. If i needed to change the sound i would just use the filters. |

Alright sorry this is so late, not sure if you even need anymore input. Regarding the bass, it is a total kill, and the mid is a much fuller sound. Kind of hard without hearing, but I will try to describe. Basically on my previous mixer (korg KM-402) if I had the bass at 1 o'clock, the mid would be at 1-2 o'clock. With the ecler, If the mid is at 1-2 o'clock the bass could be at 12, and produce a full sound. Again this is all subject to what tune you are playing, but this is just a trend I noticed that the low eq was a little lower than the mid. The EQ's on the ecler really play well /compliment each other, whereas previous mixer's I have used, they seem so independent. The mids don't really thump. If you haven't watch it already, check out this vid.

Hope that made some sort of sense. Maybe someone else can describe it better |
Makes perfect sense. Thanks!
I pulled the trigger on the Evo 4. It was hard saying no to the Xone, but in the end I thought the Evo would be best for me. 10% off sale at Agi FTW. Will be here in a few days, can't wait. :eyes: |

| You are going to love it, I understand why a previous poster said it is the most future proof. A lot of options with it. |

I hate the knobs on the ecler. The center on them is really loose and they're too fat and generally the whole mixer just feels kind of cheap. The faders are also way too loose, as bad if not worse than the xone 92.
So far the 92 rotary is probably the overall best and most fun mixer I've played on. |

hahahahah, I'm not gonna even edit that cause of how tremendously gay that sounds. Wow, how did I not catch that :stongue: |

| I don't mind large knobs if they feel smooth and sturdy, like the rotary ones on the xone 92 or rotary Rane. The ecler just feels cheap as . |

I didn't notice really. You have to go fast, that's all ! |

Another question about the 92!
the Cue system.. how does it work? I know that if you push channel 1&2 simultanesly you listen to them two in the headphones.
But i never do that with my djm800, instead i (for example), want to listen one channel, and the master in the headphones.. Does the 'Add mix' knob allow me to do that? Switching between master and headphones (channel)cueing?
Does it work like the mixing knob (above the level knob) on the djm800? |
