first time at vola and i really enjoyed myself. got in, no problems...thought i'd be missing the start of arnej but luckily timeslots were pushed back a bit. this gave me enough time to warm up to some tunes and mr. stilez did that quite well.

arnej came on and the floor started to fill up a bit with more and more people coming down from the upper bar area. really liked the build up of the set. some of the breakdowns were a bit long but i liked the track selection overall. tune of the night for me was definitely beachball. when the first sound of those drums came on...:disbelief. and monkey forest a bit after that...OH YEH:toocool:. one tune i couldn't ID was the one right after monkey forest and it's been annoying me ever since because i should know it. please post the name if anyone knows!

didn't really know what to expect of svr since i've only heard one or two of his sets and a couple of productions. but for some reason i had the preconceived notion that he played a bit more harder techy stuff. which is why i was really suprised when he played helsinki scorchin. maybe he was just preparing us for a&b . however, i definitely liked that he dropped 'contrasts' at the peak of his set with the crowd going wild. he dropped the intesity way down nearing the end of his set by playing a remix of iio-rapture and then following with some vocal stuff i believe.

it's too bad most people left when kris came on because i think most of the TAs that were there like that hard pumping music that makes you feel like you're in the extra rinse cycle of a washing machine. when i left i think there was a total of 10 or so people on the dance floor.

congrats to the vola crew for making this happen and i look more to many more events with new djs coming in.

lol. prometheus xex created own laz0r show with that superpower lightbeam thing he had

Anyways. Now that I'm somewhat coherent again

Twas was a good night

Got in around 11 to hear Robbie play some really groovy house for warm up. But please. No more Grindhouse :p
Was hoping for some Stilez vs Moebius style hard banging trance but I guess that is more appropriate for closing

Arnej def stole the show IMO
It was a bit of a ride as he started very low in bpm and went to like 138bpm in like an hr so at times I did notice when he was increasing the pitch but my ears are trained to notice these things so eh.
Lots of his own productions plus good selection of uplifting trance just made my night.

3rd Moon - Monsun

I think I found my trance tune of the year for 2009. I was hoping Arnej'd drop this tune after I heard it on his Afterhours set cuz its an absolute monster of a tune. Hands in the air epic uplifting trance. Pretty sure I was acting like a retarded jackrabbit when he dropped this tune. Totally awesome

Sied van Riel...
Well, Arnej jacked up the energy so high that Sied had to drop some more low intensity tracks to balance out the energy. Unfortunately, he chose to use a lot of crappy vocal trance and that totally lost me.
I thought I was over hearing Helsinki Scorchin but that stupid piece of crap tune is like a demon that keeps haunting me. :p
Anyways... My body was still getting used to change in sleeping pattern and I was more exhausted than I thought. Or dinner I had was laced with Valium and I was fooded or something. Hence why I was dead on a couch :(
So rest of Sied's set was meh and he couldnt get my attention back. Would like an ID on his last tune cuz he dropped a classic from 00-01. One of those Ferry tunes but I can't ID for the life of me.

Kris will play his stuff whether it's in front of packed crowd or 10 people. Banging hard trance all the way! Wish more people stayed for his set, but the night was so intense that I guess most people were tired, plus having to do V day crap and saving some energy for Above and Beyond.

Overall another good night at Vola. By 2am the club was decently crowded, but not so crowded that there was no room. I forgot who (Tara?) but someone said Vola felt like basement of someone's house party.
Intimate atmosphere surrounded by your friends. So many TAs out in force which is nice. Best part is that because Vola is a small club, you know that the people show up for trance there are in it for the music and for the DJs. No posers or hanger ons who just go to clubs for the sake of clubbing. This means that the vibe is always good, knowing that you're partying with people who love trance.
Clubbing. It is a serious business at Vola. lol

Wow, I am so dead. I was really tired but still danced my ass off while trying not to fall asleep. I was really happy with the way Arnej opened his set. I love "The Ones That Get Away"... brilliant track. It was nice to hear some of his older 8 wonders tracks later in the set too.

Sied played a lot of great tracks that I was very happy to hear. I wish that I hadn't been so sleepy by the time his set rolled around. I guess trying to stay up for 24 hours straight will do that to you.

Chris continued to pound our asses into the floor with a barrage of awesome tracks. Very nice.

I was glad that there was no siren this time. ^_^ Except at the very end; that was hilarious.

Vola loses major marks for being way too hot throughout most of the night. Their sound is very good; I still think the highs are too loud but that's probably just because I'm not deaf enough to hear them at their intended deaf-clubber-hearing-adjusted volume.

Great to see so many TAs out. I will try to make it to Vola whenever they have a headliner there, as it's always an awesome time.

I'm still debating whether or not I have the energy to go to Guv tonight or whether I should just sit on my ass at home and take it easy. >_<

Just woke up now, and I am dead tired! No regrets though last night was a fun party! The last 30-45 mins of Arnej's set was just intense. SVR played a nice set, a bunch of new tunes I've never heard along with a few classics (Oxia - Domino! Helsinki Scorchin!) Stayed for about half an hour of Mortyman's set, I was really enjoying it but I had to conserve my energy for tonight. Round 2: Above & Beyond! ALL OUT!!!

searching through my playlist, did he play 8 Wonders - The Morning After by any chance? i'm almost certain that it was that track.

Had a great time. It was so awesome to see such a large TA group in such a small room. Usually groups this size are only at guv and that place is so big that they're never the same area.

Great sets from everyone -except I had to miss Kris :(. The last half of Arnej's set stole the night for me.

Stilez
Awesome night! Great seeing everyone out. Here's some vids of last night from my POV

Arnej playing his classic 'The Morning After (Thrillseekers Remix)' track during his set at Vola Lounge The crowd reacts as it comes out of the breakdown.

Just what we are aiming for man, glad everyone enjoyed themselves!
Arnej played an epic set! Flow was a little weird at times going from uplifting to tech to uplifting to tech, but whatever, I'm sure he had a bunch of tunes he really wanted to play for everyone. Thanks for a great show Arnej, hopefully you'll come back again :D

Sied rocked the place as well! The talent this guy has is amazing! He had a great flow to his set but really brought it down for the last 30-45 minutes when I think everyone wanted him to play harder, oh well though. Yohan, the last track he played was S.I.A - The girl you lost to Cocaine (SVR Remix). Maybe you mean my opening track?? I opened with Riva - Stringer (Bart Claessen 09 Tek Dubleg) ;) But Contrasts for the win! That track amazes me everytime I hear it! Then hearing him drop PVD & Austin Leeds & Starkillers - NYC (Cream Ibiza Nights Mix)... I pretty much lost it :eyespop:

Overall, it was a great night. Sied is a great, down to earth guy and hopefully we can bring his dutch mates over next ;)
