I just thought the whole thing was the usual poorly written, 6th grade humor, mysogonistic kind of hollywood action movie. I mean what the was Gwyneth Paltrow thinking? (I want some money probably)

These movies are all full of awesome visual effects and pull from awesome source material but dissapoint me everytime because of how dog the rest is.

I would really like to see one action movie with great effects that doesn't seem like it was written and directed by 16 year olds.

It's not like I don't like comic book films. Sin City was awesome, because it wasn't an attempt to make a comic book pop out of real life, like Ironman was. I just don't like films that have such glaring inconsistencies. If you're going to be ridiculous, then be ridiculous, ala Grindhouse. The problem with these movies is that they take themselves too seriously.

To be fair, Iron Man as source material is pretty terrible :p I don't think it's a very good comic to begin with. Sin City, on the other hand, has a pretty serious source to pull from.

I'm just hoping that Zack Snyder (also directed 300) can bring the comic to life tastefully despite the fact that one of the writers wrote The Scorpion King...blech.

300 was ing terrible.

In any case at least FLTA Liz isn't here screaming that anyone who doesn't like this movie is gay. :stongue:

I liked 300 purely for the visual spectacle, it was incredibly well done in that regard in my opinion. I haven't watched it again because I don't care to.

I'm hoping Watchmen is the same way, I'm seeing it mainly for the visual experience because I know on the whole it wont live up to the book, but I can at least hope it's tastefully done and it seems that's the case.

I just really like the visual cinematography in films, it's one of the reasons I'm in the major I am. :p

300 was alright, the blasphemy thing got a bit out of hand.

OK...who's seen it?

It was amazingly close to the actual comic. Even though I felt it was well done, and the slight changes didn't take anything away from it, I came away a little let down. I think it's probably because I've liked the comic for so long that there was really no way the movie could live up to the novel. I enjoyed it though...again, amazingly close to the original.

Went to the midnight show Thurs night, and it's honestly one of the worst movies I've seen in quite a while. I'll say right off I never read the book, but the impression I get so far from looking at others' opinions is it's a great adaptation of the original. As far as a movie stand-alone though, simply terrible. It was like they spent all this time getting to know each of the characters but didn't really take it anywhere after. I hope (and suspect) others will like this much more than I did

Just saw it, I enjoyed it. The only two things that bugged me were the soundtrack didn't fit with the scenes. And the sex scene in Archimedes was ridiculously long.

I agree with that, especially the sex scene. Not that I'm usually one to complain about the length of sex scenes, but it was borderline soft core porn with all the pelvic thrusting, arched backs and screaming.

Seen this last night and didnt enjoy it at all.

Visually it was stunning but aside from that i thought it was quite boring, didn't understand what was happening, story was poorly developed and the whole thing was mish mashed from start to finish.

The sex scene's were random and the music didnt work with the scenes.

Also, what was so special about these super hero's anyway?

I loved the gore tho!

Rorschach is the man by the way, coolest mofo in the movie bar none!
