a nice night. got there around 10:20 so I could catch jaytech's full set. I thought he might be dropping some mellow intro tracks to start out his set but even at 10:20 he was rocking the place and he kept doing just that all the way to the end of his set. he kept the crowd pumped and moving thruout. with a set like that, jaytech needs to headline and there's no doubt about that. that set by itself was worth the night.
I was hoping he'd drop pyramid but he played the dinka remix instead, so that was cool.
a&b's set was good as well. wouldn't be bad if they played a bigger venue next time although last night wasn't as overcrowded as I've seen before.

just got back a lil while ago... all my friends passed out but i am *still* wide awake, so i figured id post on here...
so we were supposed to get vip and bottles in the main room. However, (after waiting forever to get in & get the bottles) it turns out that our reservation was for a table in the upstairs of the club, the "rap room".... however when I asked the hostess, she informed me that I was not allowed to go downstairs b/c they were two seperate parties. wtf??????????????????? We get 3 bottles and we cant go downstairs???
I did sneak downstairs, but now I know why ppl hate pacha
long ass waiting time + "separate parties" + ty service = fail.
Above & Beyond were ing nasty tho.

1. jaytech's set was really good apart from a couple of trainwrecks. i walked in as he was playing Pepe's Garden...which really pumped me up!
2. above & beyond's set was horrible...i understand that it was an anjunadeep launch tour but where the was the trance? they could have played some at least...all in all...disappointing set...no energy, no structure, no direction. waste of money.

i caught 4 of jaytech's set's last tracks or so - and that was probably the highlight of my night. lol. A&B's set sounded like it was stuck in warmup mode. They came on around 1:20am, and by 3:30am they were just barely entering the 136 / 137 BPM zone. Most of the tracks they were playing had a laid-back, groovy, housy vibe to them - which is cool to start out with, but they filled most of their set with them. I left between 3 and 4am because i started falling asleep lol.
Pacha packed the out of itself too, i mean wow I couldn't spend 10 seconds dancing without someone bumping into me while trying to pass through. That was the first time I've seen the club split into 2 separate parties like that - they always have the upstairs hip hop room, but I've mever seen them check for special wristbands just to let you down to the main floor.

1. Jaytech definitely did one hell of a set and started the night off proper. Only heard him make one mistake (when he pressed the wrong button on the CD-J), but he recovered incredibly. Sucks that he's all the way in the land down under, so we might not be seeing him as often as we should. Other than that, he was f'ing nuts, and I'm actually pondering the trip down to Glow to hear him again.
2. I love Above and Beyond and have been a huge fan of theirs for many years now. However, I was hoping for more banging trance, as it seemed their set dragged on for the first few hours (still dropping some nasty ass tracks in the process). But I'm glad they picked it up after playing Air For Life. And hearing In Silence and Get Off played out brought some great memories. Nevertheless, I had a great time.
It's almost 10:00 AM, and me and Sam are going through my liquor cabinet and finishing everything we can get our hands on. Sikk???

i TOLD you yo jaytech was gonna be sick!
haha seriously, love the guy. super friendly and great track selection, a lot of his tracks, Sugar Beats, Terminal6. just total pwnage the whole way through.
above and beyond not breaking 128 for 3 hours? in awesome.
agreed, it started to get a liiiiittle bland later on, but man I can't really complain that much as i've been in love with the whole anjunadeep sound for a while.
good stuff.
Grazi ...
OMG!!!
I don't remember last time i had this much fun. I think the music was great. You complain too much people!!! :tongue2
It was nice seeing all the TA's again, especially Jason and Sam ... loved dancing and singing along with you Sam =)
Kelly and Wai - i love you girls ... i really do!!! Thank you for not let me smoke and for making the night just perfect ... i always have a blast partying with you. HAHAHAHA you were so funny last night ... you crazy chicks were trying to hook me up with Wai's guy!!! lol *HILARIOUS*

whatev sam i was right along with you, jaytech killed it! honestly between the two sets i enjoyed his best and could have listened to that all night :toothless. anyone who saw me during his set must have seen how much i bugged out especially to his tracks nemesis um um um i do love that track. i've been all over anjunadeep lately so for me jaytech opening followed by above & beyond playing their housey tracks was quite nice. i didn't mind that the bpms stayed on the lower range of things for the majority of the evening because at the very least we listened to something different.
above & beyond did close out with their standard tracks as everyone wanted to hear which i thought was nice. i was so surprised by the number of people still there to the bitter end. that room was packed :eyes:!!! went downstairs at the beginning and tried to do it again but too many people to even try moving through...really wanted to hang out with some but couldn't make it through. i hate paying for a table but at least we had the space.
anyway, loved hanging out with everyone upstairs, what an awesome fun bunch of people! sam aka samantha's dance must go up on youtube :haha:. running into markus schulz was a surprise, cool guy and i think it was nice to see a big name dj out enjoying the scene even though they are not playing.
night as a whole like i said before 9/10 because of everything only negatives were the 15min i lost my phone plus i was not feeling it when some random bitch tried to help themselves to our alcohol. very uncouth and a low class move to waltz up to someone's table where you know you are most definitely not invited and attempt to help yourself to other people's stuff. oddly enough last time a&b were here the same person did the very same thing. anyhow like i said a minor blemish on an otherwise awesome night.

exactly my thoughts, even i left by 3.30, too much house. Even if they were playing a 5 hour set say from 1.30 to 5.30 they played in warmup mode till the time i left around 3.30 thats almost 50% of the set. JayTech was awsome. Good nite tho, was great runnin into familiar faces, and Markus schulz :D

I also had no problem with a&b's set. their cd1 of the last anjunabeats comp played out exactly like the jaytech set, nice and housey with trax like professional killers & not a lot left, and I was actually hoping they would plug more of that housey sound into their set instead of their usual full on trance, which is also good by itself of course. I totally love the anjunadeep sound & I'm glad they played more of that. this set was also a tour for their new anjunadeep cd which has a lot of that sound. komytea-electro house is dead, nice :)
