| I don't really give two s about the medium as long as I like what I'm hearing. |

Apples/oranges, though. The problem with these examples is that the stuff happening in the first video has nothing to do with the medium being played since everything his happening on the mixer. While it is very impressive to have four actual decks stay in sync for any given period of time, if it's the movement and interaction you want, any DJ can have an epileptic seizure on their mixer like that regardless of where the audio signals are coming from. |

If you had the choice to go see him play that exact same set on vinyl or ableton which one would you choose?
I know I would rather see him do it on vinyl, simply because it is much more impressive. |

Either way, I'd say "he's having a damn seizure on the mixer" and would feel it's not adding anything to the music.
But, yes, it is more impressive from a technical standpoint to have four technics sync'ed. That doesn't mean I'll enjoy the music more. If I'm going out to be impressed by technical skill, I'm going to go watch a turntablist/good hip-hop DJ. If I'm going out to enjoy the music and atmosphere, I'm not going to pay attention to medium. |

| id love to see them use tapedecks. vinyl is dead and so is software. with tapedecks you can put whatever u like on them, and u can say prepare two or three tracks before your night and then u can have more time ruin the mixers unused channels or walking around interacting with the crowd. |

Huge number of jocks switching to that in the last year or so. |

| Ableton's EQs (at least the ones I'm using) kinda... suck? I don't really know because I have nothing to compare to but they seem to bleed a lot. |

| That Jeff Milligan video stinks. After about 15 minutes I'd say myself "please let the music play you " |

Not necessary to EQ internally though.
I play with Traktor, but I mix with a real-life mixer. (I use Traktor Pro's filter's though, since my mixer doesn't have them. :) ) |
