3rd street prominade in Santa Monica. It's in the pantheon of LA tourist traps. Don't be caught smoking a cigarette there lest the cops tackle you and beat you senseless. Then they'll ticket you. But hey, marijuana is now the lowest priority on the SMPD list. So toke em if you got em!
Venice Beach is always a good time on the weekends. Sometimes on Sundays you can hang out with neo-hippies and cracked-out ravers at the sundown drum circle on the beach itself. Also, you can find all the bongs and knock-off fashion accessories that you'll ever need!
Sony Pictures Studios is in Culver City, which is about 5 miles, or 2.5 hours, south on the 405 fwy. Take a tour and see just how recession-proof the motion picture industry is. Security there is a joke, so go ahead, steal a golf cart on the lot and drive wrecklessly through the sound stages. Good times! |

our studio tour isn't worth $15.... it's not like you get a tram..
also, security will put a beatdown on you.. I dont know what you're speaking of..

Perhaps I should clear that up. Getting on the lot is only slightly less difficult than penetrating Ft. Knox. However, once you're on the lot, it's basically a free for all.
Or has it changed that much in the last 3 years since I worked there? |

Oh, there are ways around it, but that info is really only beneficial to those who know the Westside like the back of their hands. |

Well that and the Getty is literally in the worst traffic area in the States. Don't go during rush hour. Although that Skirball hill there seems to have traffic 24/7. |
