I find your psychology fascinating. The entire reason you make music is so that you can feel like you can do something everyone else can't. Not for expression, or love, or compulsion, but just because you want to feel special. Then you come on here seeking attention by saying "oh I'm so bad I hate myself".
Its great having these threads because it shows me one motivation I never want to drive my music making, so now I know to steer clear of that. |

Maybe we'd all develop more pro skills if we stopped sitting around talking about how un-pro we feel?

Dude - let me tell you a secret.
EVERYONE WHO MAKES MUSIC, is being led by a degree of expression, love and compulsion. Someone who understands this also understands it does not need to be said.
As useful as saying "the entire reason I live is because I breath" well no .
Who needs to say it? Thanks for exagerating a word thats commonly used that fashion in non absolute terms as you are misrepresenting it.
I'm also not seeking attention, I'm seeking wisdom, non of which you are giving me.
But thank you for trying. |

Pardon me, you said it. I know its easy to fall into the trap of making music for reasons other than the love. You can start making it so you have something to play at your next gig, or so people will like you more, or to impress people, or to feel more special, or for the money.
But whenever that happens you lose the ability to make good music IMO and become more and more frustrated. |

If its a "trap", or can become one as you say.
Than you are saying:
music producer = makes music (its what he does right?)
trap = music.
music + music producer = producer is in a TRAP. (the logic)
How do people make music in trap?
why kind of trap is this? Never heard of it in my life. People in traps dont want to be there. |

Make a track called something like Call On Me.
Then make a big progressive house anthem.
After that you can write random crap and still reach #1 spot.
Gratz, your pro ;) |

I concur with the viewpoint that being professional is making a living from music.
Generally that means you're making better music than most. But there are professionals whose music doesn't sound particularly brilliant, and amateurs whose music does sound brilliant.
Professional isn't about the quality of the music, though a lot of people use the word in that way. |
