Looking for IT employment and agencies in MTL

Hello all,
First off, I apologise for the lengthy post.
After spending most of my professional career (and life) in Toronto, I have decided to attempt a move to the beautiful city of Montreal. Having been there, both in a personal and professional context many times over the last years, I am in love with the city, the people, and the culture. I am looking to hopefully find something to get my foot in the door, and am appealing to this community for any assistance you all may be able to provide.
I am a young professional, and have worked in IT for over 7 years, being involved in projects of various degrees of scope and complexity. Academically, I have a bachelors of science degree, majoring in computer science, so I am fairly well versed in many aspects of this field. My French is at a basic conversational level, but I am proactively taking steps to better this. Truth be told, learning the language is one of the bigger motivators for trying to make it out there.
Having said all this, I am appealing to all of you for help; I would like to start applying to any positions that anyone may know of, this week. Further, if there are headhunter/contracting/placement agencies of any kind, I would appreciate their names, so that I can explore this venue.
Basically, I am asking for help in regards to where I look for employment?
Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. |

| Hey zokissima, would IT-related sales be of interest? If yes I know of two open positions at the moment at two different companies in the Technology park of Ville St. Laurent. PM me if interested. |

I'm young (22) so experience isn't very big, but I learn very fast.
I've done a DEC in Informatique de Gestion (programming), went 1 year to Ecole de Technologie Superieure to become a Software Engineer, but dropped out because it wasn't my thing. I kinda had a burnout of programming.
I much prefer working as Support Technician (mostly Internal stuff like networking, servers and not the guy at Videotron answering the angry customer). I don't hate programming, but it's been nearly 2 years since I've coded something. I was very good in VC++.
Malek, are you looking for someone ? |

Hi zokissima,
The reason you choosed MTL over TO really interrest me.
I will certainly soon get my Canadian permanent residency ,I work in IT as well and will have to choose between the 2 cities.
People here told me TO has better wages, weather and taxes.
Would be great if you could give me your opinion considering that I'm French.
Thanks a lot |
