Vanessa Mae - White Bird (Cosmic Gate Remix)

..just for the sake of argument..

gabriel & dresdens remix of sarah mclachlan - fallen is a massive imprtovement. I herd the G&D mix first and thought 'the original of that must be such a powerful song, whihc they have turned into an awesome trance track. But the original has no emotion or power to it at all! G&D did a in awesome job there in my opinion.

2 examples of a 'normal' trance tracks I can think of are energy 52 - cafe del mar and push - strange world. I think most people would know the 3 in 1 mix and 2000 mix (respectively) as the originals, but theyre not. The actual originals, which are never played or on any compilations, have all of the familiar elements but just sound crap - it's quite interesting if you've not herd them before :-)

Any pop track remixed is better than the original, really. Almost.

No. Pop is not just a new Britney or Rihanna song. There's a crazy amount of good pop music, just like there's a crazy amount of really awful remixes of pop tracks.

And yeah, Björk is awesome, from her distinctive voice to her overall fascination for (abstract) music and choice of partners (her main producer is Mark Bell of LFO and her songs have been remixed by some of the finest names in the world of abstract electronica - The Black Dog, Speedy J, Beaumont Hannant, µ-Ziq, Funkstörung, Herbert etc.). Plus, she is (still) cute as hell.

This Plaid remix of All Is Full Of Love is one of the few examples I have where the remix succeeded to improve already classic masterpiece (I know that's not the subject of this thread, but what the hell - if not for anything else, at least look at the astounding video directed by Chris Cunningham (the guy who also made Come To Daddy, Windowlicker and Rubber Johnny)):

On topic, here's one track that's ridiculously better than original:
System 7 - Alpha Wave (Plastikman Acid House Mix) - Ever building and mindblowing, almost 20 minutes long acid trip
and while we're ta(l)king acid here's another one:
Robert Armani - Circus Bells (Hardfloor Remix)
and another (better-known) classic from the same year:
Humate - Love Stimulation (Lovemix by PVD)

By pop music I meant music that was made purely for the sake of money.
