M.Woods remix of Cafe del Mar is easily the worst remix ever done including all that fail fl studio trial version remixes you can find on Youtube, that does not compare with the Art of Trance remixes, Richard Durand remix is fine however i prefer it over Ferry and Cygnus X mixes

There are two Woods remixes I believe. Haven't heard the other but the 10 minute Ambient mix is great. If you are talking about that one in such a tone - just forget about music, it's not your thing mate.

it's definitely the most played and anthemic, but the original is a great track on its own (I like it better than the remix).

Personally, I would favor some amalgamation of Corsten's and Cygnus X's remixes but the hook which defines Madagascar is nearly as musically enigmatic as its origins are murky. Was it a muted MIDI track Platipus/Art of Trance made available as part of the remix pack or did some enterprising producer come up with it, themselves, to either distribute it or find it being re-used in subsequent productions? It doesn't even sound like any of the arpeggios, used in the original, and the only portion of the arpeggio used in any remix is the opening chord, suspended through vast segments of most remixes.
Musically, the chord progression constituting the hook is imperfect by the dictates of the algorithmic model it seems to be invoking, with chords that seemingly should close upwards to create diminished triad, staying open to give the entirety of the circular progression a hint of harmonic syncopation that never fully resolves.

I have to read whatever you write at least 2 times. I agree, the remixes sounds like different tracks all together. The hook only defines the remixes, not the original. I guess I'm a little colored by the fact that I've heard both remixes hundreds of times and just "recently" discovered the original. The latter has more of a geniune art of trance sound than the remixes, and I'm a fan of it :p
