Here is the final version of this track:

Hey dude, cool track. Nice kick and use of percs. The melody @ 2::22 is ok but i'd not make it follow the bass so much on key changes. Cool effects though. Love the way it comes back in @ 4:24 really driving and powerful would be awesome on a big system, the bass sounds great here. Ah I notice the melody is back now @4:54 it sounds much better with this bassline than the one earlier in the track which moves with it on the key changes

Could also do with some more perc's to give it some more groove through the track but nice draft so far mate - good work.

I like it bg bass and love those little siney melodies and the short delays. Yeah i agree that this would be great on loud system.
Subtle
Listening.

Tight bass, tight beats.

The lead at 2:22 isnt the greatest one, but it works ok.

That pulse thing at right before 4 minutes works nicely, i like it.. and the bass just builds up there sounds great. Great sound, thats a Virus im sure ;)

Back with the melody at 5 minutes, it doesnt work very well, but its ok as mentioned.

Overall cool track, could use some more depth in effecs and percussions pherhaps but good job.

Very clean and punchy. Kick cuts trough nicely, plenty of power.

Bass sounds good. Melody is simple, works okay, nothing great.

First break could do with few more FX sounds or layers to add to the atmosphere.

General progression of the track works well. I like how you build it back up from the break.

Percs you have sound good. But could probably do with a little extra to add some extra groove and give you more room to buid energy throughout the arrangement. In general, and this is personal preference, I find it all a little too oompa oompa. Your bass, leads and percs all play very tightly on the grid with nothing adding a different rhythm to the track. This causes the energy level to stay a little one dimensional like a plodding march rather than a grooving tech-house track.

All this said, the production overall is good, with plenty of punch. Your certainly developing your style which is good.

I would add additonal FX and sounds here and there to give a bit more depth. I would also work on the percs, adding bits to give a little more groove and "techy-ness" to the track.

Overall good job mate. Enjoy your virus, dunno where I'd be without mine!

I'd like to thank everybody who took the time to listen to and comment upon this tune; I really appreciate the feedback :)

I have updated the first post with a second draft that I have just completed (the changes begin halfway through).

If anyone has anything else to add (positive or negative), I'm all ears ;)
G-Con
Sounds much better to me, still could do with some extra percussion to really drive it along but other than that, good job :)

This update sounds much better i like the improved melody you added. I agree some more perc's to liven it up esp during the 1st 2 mins till the 1st synths starts.

Good luck with getting it signed, let us know if you do.

This is tight. The sounds works really good together. Superb work.

The only thing I can really comment and provide feedback on is the bassline. It's too wide for this sort of tune imo. Maybe try a different reverb? It just takes up too much space sort of. It's a very subtle thing, and maybe it's just me.

Then, the wideness of it is good at the end of the choruses leading to the breaks, but I think you should cram it in during most of the track, and only widening it at select places, if you know what I mean?

Just my 2 cents, and the track really is good, I'm just splitting hairs here.

(Acctually, on second thought and relistening, the bassline does work :/, well whatever ;P Just something for you to ponder I guess.)

Superb work! And the journey you've just taken me through was excellent. Thanks very much.

Ninja Edit: On the third listen I have deducted that the wide bassline really does work.

Thanks very much guys for listening (and in some cases re-listening!) to the track. I'm much happier with the tune; there are a couple of small things that need tweaking but overall, in terms of sounds and melodies, I'm rather pleased.

Putboy your review was awesome haha. I laughed while I was reading how your opinion evolved following a few listening experiences. A fun review indeed so thanks!

The response to the tune has been quite good I'd say but I'm still trying to get it signed, remixed, and released. Any suggestions (e.g. contacting certain labels) would be appreciated.

Thanks again folks.
DuBam
Very nice.

No complaints what so ever, could use an Asbrey remix, though :p
