Canned air. I also have a Ionic Breeze Air Purifier running to get rid of dust.

Great show though, could easily have gone to a fishy site to get that myself.

Yea thing was I knew it was fishy and did it anyway. Double stupid :D

If you have no internet on your production computer, that makes things like downloading samples, updates to programs, remix packs etc a bit of an interesting and time consuming proposition.

I imagine you'd waste more time transferring stuff back and forth and keeping your OS/programs etc patched than you would on the internet.

Theres a lot of other misinformation in this thread. Kadomony, some of that stuff is wrong. Without reading through the whole list, the first point is the wrong way around (from memory) your supposed to set priority to programs, not background tasks.

My studio computer isn't hooked up on the internet. However, I also have a laptop around, so when I need the internet for something, it's pretty easy to bring it up to the studio and do my thing. If I need to transfer files to my studio PC, I just use a USB stick or my Ipod to do so.

I also haven't got any type of virusscanner or ad-aware type of program on my studio computer, it will only take up memory.

30 or even 100 meg of memory is not a big deal if your running 2 gig... which is standard on most reasonable computers these days.

True, but every memory you can save is some .. ;)

I also have a separate production machine, which isn't connected to the internet. When I'm in my studio, I work. I don't have any games on it, nothing except my music software and samples. I go in there to work. If I want to get on the net, I go to my internet computer in another room.

Getting software updates/ samples etc onto my production machine is easy - USB sticks are big and fast. It's a total non-issue for me.

And also, those Anti virus/spyware programs do more harm than good in any way. I would not advice anyone to use them. They suck!!!

Yeah thats right, why use something that is an annoyance and takes resources in order to prevent something else from being an annoyance and take resources ?
Storyteller
Exactly. With other people I always see those scanners popping up that they're in danger, need updates or it just starts a background scan.
