Ok, so here's my question:
Where do Perrogies originate from?
I say Poland, but some have said Russia, and Ukraine...even Belarus.
I'm curious to know...and yes I've Wiki'd it etc.. |

Very Simple...
If you're from Poland...the Polish invented it
If you're from Russia...the Russians invented it
If you're from Ukraine...The Ukrainians invented it

I'm eating perogies right now :D 4 with ground beef; 4 with mushrooms and "kapusta" (whatever that is in English).
No clue where they originate from though. In Poland we have different types, and 1 is called "Russian style Perogies." Those are with ground beef, but I doubt they're actually Russian. They just probably call it that in Poland to make it sound more fancy (Just like Greek-styled fish isn't actually from Greece). |

Lack of sleep has given me the ultimate in death food brainwaves.
Perogies (bacon & cheese filled of course) Poutine.
-Crisp the outside of the perog's w/ a quick fry in olive oil
-cheese those fuckers up
-Hogtown-ize it
-& gravy baste that mess.
I shall make this once & once only.
but what shall it be called?
Pouperog perhaps?
I need some sleep. |
