I really want to go to Markus Saturday, but friends are going to see the rat @ Congress. Any of you guys ever seen Deadmau5? I like a few tracks such as Aguru and Faxing Berlin, but most of his sets I have heard are more like hard basslines and computer bleeps and blurbs... Not so much into that style.

As for the other acts, any info on them:conf:

Also any info on the Congress theatre as a venue is appreciated....
Thanks yall!!!

Thanks that was very helpful. I know what to do now :P

Any info on the congress for a show like this is helpful. What time to get there, tickets will call or box office etc.

Thanx yall.

honestly, you would be better off just killing yourself now before you ruin the gene pool further.

Trent,

Both shows should be a good time. Personally for me, it would be Markus at Vision. I've seen Joel, and his set was good, but I think Markus at Vision would seriously trump it....of course that's IMO. You'll probably have a good time either way, and if you've never seen Deadmau5, friends with you ALWAYS makes a party....

With name like Trent Steele, he obviously works in porn. So the real question is: which dj will bring the wonka wonka thump sound to the club that night? I haven't listened to Markus in some time, so I'm blindly guessing that Deadmau5 is the best option for the porn worker crowd that night. But I will leave this up for debate.:conf:

I was facing the same dilemma as well… Markus or Deadmau5 ???

But keep in mind that there are other bands and artists that will be playing with Deadmau5 as well, and Deadmau5 may only have at the most 1 ˝ hrs to two hours to play... however, I could be wrong on how long they get to play….

On the other hand… Markus will probably play more than two hours... and Markus is a world-renowned artist and he’s bound to put on a great show... his radio show every week has just been banging… so I’m excited and looking forward to seeing him @ Vision.

If you are going to see Deadmau5, buy your tickets now, they will raise the price, as it gets closer … just do will call and pick it up a couple of hours before the show… you should be fine that way… use the bathroom before you go… it’s not very clean there…

Either way… make the most of it and enjoy it…

Markus and Deadmau5 play entirely different styles of music, and it's not too much of a choice for me. Markus all the way.

Side note: Deadmau5 is open to 18+, so you're likely to have to deal with a younger crowd.

I've seen Markus Schulz and Deadmau5. They both play a somewhat narrow spectrum of music. Although Deadmau5 doesn't seem to play much of anything that he wasn't involved with. He might slip in a few, but they all revolve around his take of music.

Markus Schulz will blow the roof off with progressive trance and trance. Think of Sia - Buttons (Markus Schulz Dub), Markus Schulz - Cause You know, perfect, daydream (insert remix), the new world, etc. Markus Schulz plays some Arnej song's as well. But he is more diverse than what you will find Deadmau5 playing. Don't think that those songs are all assured to be played or anything like that. Those are just songs of his he has played in the past. Markus Schulz is really easy to hear live through his radio show, and his sets pop up everywhere. So you can get an idea of what hes playing before you see him. Deadmau5 is probably going to play the same he did in 2007. Keep in mind both of them frequent the windy city, and with the lineup of artists coming in to town you could easily replace Markus Schulz with Lange or Andy Duguid. Both of which will have their vibe, but a progressive trance / trance mood. If you haven't heard some of their stuff. Check it out.

Attendance wise I think that both of these artists being in town in one night is great. Great kind of crowd control. You'll have large factions of cheese trance lovers out there, and they won't all be at one place all night, until Deadmau5 gets over, and everyone realizes Vision is going to have Markus going till 5 A.M and it's just a 10 minute cab ride. Vision will be busting, busy, and the floor will be packed, Deadmau5 will have ample room being at the Congress.

Honestly this is a battle of what mood will you be in.

Yeah Deadmau5 can be a bit repetitive with his solid bass lines, but if you really are into his faxing berlin , arguru build up's...then you will probably find the night very enjoyable. You should consider you might hear things like brazil - second edit, sometimes things get whatever, slip, and remember Deadmau5 will also play probably one or more of these three cheese classics - I Remember, Move For Me, Longest Road.

If you enjoy their productions you will enjoy them live. Deadmau5's live vibe isn't really captured on radio shows or anything like that (he hasn't really done a lot of radio shows to begin with).

I personally suggest you just go to Deadmau5, and hope Vision won't be packed so you can go to see 1.5-2 hour of Markus Schulz after Deadmau5.

Vision will go till 5 A.M. The headliner hasn't really ever been on before 1 or 2 at the earliest. There are a lot of other people who go to/ DJ at Vision on here and are way more educated on when people go on so maybe wait for them to chime in, or just search.

I would make sure I left Deadmau5 in time to see Markus open, Deadmau5 is kind of a one trick pony playing like 90% of his productions which all have the same style. To me they all play music that contain bleeps and blaps. Some people just like the bleeps and blaps of one guy over the other guy, ya hear guy?

Deadmau5 would win in the best music to make porn to.
