Labour of Love 2002:
Kool Haus, 6+ hour set, after Danny Howells. Rockin party, actually my first as a legal drinker.
I remember looking up, the lights were dark and they dropped:
Timo Maas - Maas Attacks, it just sounded in scary, pure early morning Deep Dish. Walked out at 8:30am, and they were still pounding away.
EDIT: after doing some digging, it must have been:
Timo Maas Feat. Kelis - Help Me (Deep Attacks Mars Dish Remix)
One of my top party moments of all time. |

My favourite Deep Dish party and favourite party in Guv mainroom:
Deep Dish @ Labour of Love 2005
Words cannot fairly describe how incredible this party was. Digweed played before Dish and it was one of the most packed nights I've ever been to at Guv. It was absolutely horrible. But then around 5am, the crowd cleared out just enough to make it comfortable, and Deep Dish just started hammering it out. I remember dancing by myself, right at the front for hours, completely lost in the music.
Around 10:30am, I remember going upstairs to the D'Luxe Lounge to get someone, turning around to look at the crowd, and noticing how it was still packed. They stopped playing close to 11am, but nobody wanted to leave. I'm sure the could have played much longer.
In 2004, I saw them at the Bell Center in Montreal. I remember they STARTED at 8am and played until around 1:30pm. I remember Dish and their crew just pouring into the DJ booth, chugging a bottle of Jack and just going mental along with the crowd. That was another ing crazy set.
How I miss early morning Deep Dish tunes. |
