Post WMC Hotel Reviews (pg. 2)

I loved my place as well. It wasn't in South Beach, however I've learned that most South Beach hotels are roachy unless you are saying at one of the $700+ a night spots like Delano, Loews, Ritz etc.

I stayed at the Eden Roc Renaissance. It recently renovated and built an additional tower. Most comfortable bed and soft sheets, bathroom, shower and shower pressure was amazing!

It is on Collins and 45th, next door to the Fountainblue (LIV nighclub). When I'd go somewhere alone, I'd take the convenient buses for $2 bucks. As fast as the cabs! When there were others or middle of the night I'd take a cab which came out to around $10 to South Beach.

No complaints here...I may even stay there again next year...

i was at the Mondrian Miami/South Beach...

booked very early and got a grand opening special rate of $245 and was upgraded to a balcony 1BR suite for free! :)

room had a kitchenette which was nice....sink in the bath was a bit weird as its one very long sink and you put your stuff in one end...but it didn't get wet. kinda silly IMO...

VERY chi-chi crowd...usually i'm cool with that but during the WMC it was a little annoying at times. Bar scene going off in the hotel friday and sat nites. Sat they had a party put on by Jade Jagger's Ibiza party and Perry Farrell was spinning. lots of eye candy :D :D :D

Sunday afternoon ate lunch at the Asia de Cuba restaurant there and had a nice chat with Mark Knight who was eating at one table and Josh Wink & Darren Emerson were next to him at another.

would def stay there again if the price was right...

2/2 king bed/queen bed,2 bathrooms,25 foot balcony, stainless appliances, granite counter tops, not a bad place just customer service was a pain in the ass. Opera Suites and Marina $245 a night downtown.

Miami Riverside Hotel (Downtown)

Made rsvp a month out from WMC, and was one of the only hotels I could find 1 mile from Ultra.

Paid $160 per night.
Suite
2 beds
1 sleeper sofa
No balcony

I was however disappointed there was no bible in this hotel room,so we promptly called for room service and had one delivered to complete the room.

Room was a smoking room, as was the floor. We bured the devil's lettuce all weekend in our room, no issues. :disbelief

Room was old and outdated, beds were hard, and the floor had white stains on the carpeting which looked like 20 year old baby batter stains. :toothless Who sleeps on the floor anyway? I could imagine what's on it. :stongue:

Parking was $15 per day, but I had my buddy lift the parking gate and we avoided paying the fee.

Cabs were easy to get.

I can't complain since it was a last minute rsvp. Would I take my gf there, probably not. Would I meet a hooker there, most certainly.

2 full beds $1000 for 5 days booked in november. Had enough room to put a air matress in but barely.

The room itself was nice and the bed and pillows was the closest I have come to being a "heavenly bed" at the westin.

Was not close to anything, $10 cab ride to shelbourn, $14 to cameo, $30 to Space. No food nearby. The IDMAs were held in this hotel and they had a DJ in the lobby as well as the pool on friday and saturday. I could hear the music really loudly on the 10th floor.

Had a minibar, bought two things out of it and did a lot of room service as well. Next year I am just going to stay at the shelbourn to get rid of the cost of cabs and not having food nearby.

There was always, and i mean always a cab waiting at it. Never once had to wait for one. If I had a car I think it would have been $25 a day to valet it and I would have had to wait a while to get my car. No nearby public parking at all.

Was walking distance to tiki boat cruise and where s&d boat ported last year (dont know where it did this year)

if i had it my way, id stay right near the omni bus terminal. Close to downtown, close to south beach. Collins is so so sick though.

We stayed at the Hilton right next to the omni terminal, it sucks not being on the beach but it was so convenient.

Stayed at the Winterhaven on 14th & Ocean. Not huge rooms, but definitely enough room, clean, and cheapish $200 @ night.

2BR condo in the shelborne x6 people. $500/nt included free entrance for all guests to all shelborne/shine WMC events. most of us had already purchased tickets for said events and ended up flipping them for 3x the price paid.

chach
I'll flip you :disbelief

p.s super nice room recommend staying with at the most 2 couples.

The Wave at 4th and Ocean. Small rooms, clean, unless your talking about the carpet. Good maid service, & they didn't steal anything which is what I was worried about. Really liked the people we met there, lounge lobby area seemed to always be people around to meet and hang out with, didnt matter if it was 7 am or pm. Really liked the couches and stuff they had outside on the porch. Always people hanging out in various states of mind. After last yr staying at the Shelborne I made it a point to stay south of 5th where there are noise restrictions. Only noise complaint I had was when we were trying to go to bed at 9 in the morning on Saturday they were installing palm trees at a new hotel. Obviously this was a one time issue and glad it happened. We decided there was no way we were going to be able to sleep so we took showers and went back to the A.M. Only party, so glad we did. Ended up being one of the best moments of conference. If you dont mind a very small room thats a little dated it's a great hotel for the price. Location was excellent.
