Really liked the people we met there, lounge lobby area seemed to always be people around to meet and hang out with, didnt matter if it was 7 am or pm. Really liked the couches and stuff they had outside on the porch. Always people hanging out in various states of mind. After last yr staying at the Shelborne I made it a point to stay south of 5th where there are noise restrictions. Only noise complaint I had was when we were trying to go to bed at 9 in the morning on Saturday they were installing palm trees at a new hotel. Obviously this was a one time issue and glad it happened. We decided there was no way we were going to be able to sleep so we took showers and went back to the A.M. Only party, so glad we did. Ended up being one of the best moments of conference. If you dont mind a very small room thats a little dated it's a great hotel for the price. Location was excellent.

Ha! I was staying right across the street at the Ocean Walk Condominiums (335 Ocean).

Check out the vid I posted in the "WMC Videos" thread with my buddy climbing a palm tree. That was in the vacant lot a few feet south of your hotel :)

And I hear you about the construction noise. That was going on next door to where I was staying.

I stayed at the Intercontinental downtown. Within about a mile of every venue I was hitting, so it was awesome. I would stay again.

walked by there a lot. We stayed in a condo across the white bridge across the street. Ate at the cafe in the bottom of that building.

Curious if you don't mind saying how much that run ya?

I believe they go for $600 or so a night(?). We managed to get it for about $250/night. The one friend that came with us works for a record label and has connections at various hotels for when he has to book artists. So we managed to get a room there.

we stayed nearby !!! The Hilton is a good location. For us, it was perfect since we party in Downtown every single night.:tongue2

Seriously, this hotel/condo thing is sooo overrated. The only thing that matters about your lodging during wmc is location, along with maybe the price. If you are going to party downtown mostly, then that's the place to be. Otherwise, the beach is the better choice. For us, the downtown location was great!! I only spent one night in south beach (BED, wednesday). Other than that, every club was within walking distance. As far as amenities go, as long as I have somewhere to rest my head from time to time, that's cool. Our kitchen was a nice advantage, but we really didn't take advantage of it that much. In my opinion a nice tv, glass shower, mints on your pillows, etc, etc, is all an incredible waste of money during conference. Now, if you get a great deal like nerve, then more power to you. Otherwise, location and cost are everything!! I look forward to staying downtown every year from now on unless something drastic comes up as far as the SoBe parties go.
