Best way to start and end a set (pg. 3)

A great opener is:
Jon the Dentist - Imagination (K90 Remix)

About "Dreamland," why are all of you saying it's great to finish with? There is a simple bassline at the end (after the piano conclusion), just like in every other track, nothing spectacular (although the track itself is).

I like to start with Sasha - Ohmna

just fade out that bassline.

Its because of the single buildup is just so big, it just finishes the set. And if it works so well for PvD and other djs. :D

lots of ideas...hmm...i think i'm going to make a set. ty PC mixing of course! :D

BTW: Imagination is a GREAT opener, Kimball Colins opened up that 2000 set that I forgot the name of with that.

If you mean PvD's "Politics of Dancing", then he simply cut off that remaining bassline, and you don't hear it at the end at all. If that's how you end your set too, then fine... Otherwise, the bassline is a little annoying and predictable.

The Kimball Collins set you referred to is ICU Generation Trance 2000.

that's a good one, but i'd rather play Cloud Walking in the middle.
DJ NEILSON
Start: Alibi - Eternity (IC Mix)
Finish: Pulser - Cloudwalking (Original)

naa alibi Eternity is too much of a wikid tune to play at the start. U shudnt start a set with a choon as good as this, coz anything u play after mite not compete with it. Cloudwalking is an awesome set finsiher tho, i gotta agree with u there
teo
the best tracks to end:

nu nrg - dreamland
and why not ending with paul oakenfold - Southern Sun (Solar Stone Chillout Mix)...yeah thats the best way to end especially if ur the last playng in the club...all will go home and remember that day for the rest of their lifes if they here that song closing the set..cant describe it..amazing!

seen tiesto do it 3 times, get everyone moving :) i.e. at DD on the 02/02/02 after Jan jonstonns finished her bit, tiesto restarts as it were and plays eternity with a n mega long buildup, maybe a little too long, but it completely owns and the crowd go wild when teh bass kicks in :)

at dutch dimension 2002 tiesto drops it a good 3 hours into the set, ie. the crowd are already hyped and therefore it is a perfect time to play it

Here's a better way to do it:

Magik Journey (EXCLUDING Classical Outro) at the beginning).
Magik Journey (JUST the Classical Outro) at the end, after Delerium feat. Sarah M. - Silence (DJ Tiesto... Mix)
