The police cannot protect the citizen at this stage of our development, and they cannot even protect themselves in many cases. It is up to the private citizen to protect himself and his family, and this is not only acceptable, but mandatory.

this is why Plaxico should go to jail.

Ok to own a gun. You use it other than defense or hunting you get mandatory 3.5 years+.

well in NY there are 100% illegal so this person or people had nothing to lose by doing this.

PS. Plaxico was just released from the giants. :) Good for a superbowl catch and nothing more except drama.

Yet more evidence that America's gun laws are ridiculous.

Don't mean to sound like a heartless bastard and i obviously sympathise with the victims, but something needs to be done to stop these massacres that seem to occur far more frequently in the US than any other industrialised country.

Yes, because ridiculous gun laws are exactly the reason why this is happening. :stongue: Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending our gun laws by any means as I find them to be incredibly lax. However, to blame this incident on gun laws is absurd.

To deny that America's lax gun laws have no part to play in this is absurd.

Well????

I fail to see how that proves anything. All it means is that there are more murders with guns. It doesn't prove that the murders are committed DUE to guns being legal. Those same murders could be committed with knives, it doesn't prove that knives being legal caused those murders.
