Therefore every able-bodied man has a duty under the Constitution to become part of the "well-regulated" militia, specifically to understand and perform well with the individual weapon currently issued to the regular establishment. . . . Thus one who has not qualified himself with the M-16 may not be considered to be a responsible citizen.

a) The other industrialised/OEDC countries' citizens don't see each other as a threat. They are fellow citizens and equals. Why are Americans so paranoid?

b) If, in fact, you are living in a country where violence and assault is a problem, why supply the criminals with guns? In the same way that nuclear weapons have been regulated due to their capacity for massive collateral damage, guns have the same effect. If you take them away from everyone, the people wishing to cause others harm have lesser means, and yet the good citizens wishing to defend themselves are still on equal footing with the criminals. This is shown to be true in other countries (Canada, Australia, England, France).

A? i'm not talking bout other countries... i'm talking about internal defense

B? if every able bodied citizen was armed like they should be criminals wouldn't run loose... outlaw weapons and you will ensure that only true criminals (cops and felons) will have the most firepower

I have a whole bunch more quotes for your dumbass but just go ahead and google Lt. Col. Cooper yourself.

If you think a citizen militia can't stand up to the military then you are dead wrong? Look at the mujahideen in Afghanistan. Sadly this is the price you pay. But a price I am fully willing to accept.

Doesn't really change much. The US still has a far higher murder rate with guns than almost any developed nation (beside South Africa and Mexico).
Halcyon+On+On
It's not murder when you're in the military because it's what everyone wants! :gsmile:

But, our poorest areas are more developed than these 2 countries poorest areas. I still think parts of Africa are still 3rd worldish and Mexico is slightly above that.

I think it's a medium issue, people who are educated/smart can own guns without committing crimes. I see only a few killings a year are actually committed by educated people and that still doesn't mean they were from guns laws, because I am sure if a gun wasn't available they might have used any weapon available.

ModernNosferatu
America isn't ever getting rid of guns.

There is money it them

They serve as a population control tool

Should everyone be denied a gun because of ignorant people

There is a lot of ways to look at the issue
Slylee
yea i read about that yesterday...my dad just moved to orlando from binghamton. he was shocked when i told him about the story. it's a small town sort of. or at least the type of town that doesn't have lots of violence or crazy happening like that.
