I went and walked around with my friend on Thursday night and took some pictures. The venue is cool and it is suitable for a party with one main room and either one or two small rooms. Capacity should be around 300 so it will be intimate but I think that will add to the whole experience. I know I for one will be willing to pay extra money for the experience.
For anyone interested they are allowing photographers to go in and take pictures for a donation to the hospital fund. It's kind of interesting how a lot of spots will be closed off to the public (I think there will be only access to 2 levels) but back in the day there were prisoners all the way up to the top level in these tiny cells with no fire exits.

Which movie is that from?
It was weird when I was walking around on Thursday we went up to the top floor and there are some pictures on the wall, a small fridge, a mirror, extension cord, etc
As you turn the corner and see the stuff which you aren't expecting it is ing creepy. They aren't sure what the stuff was there for but figured it was from a movie shoot and it was where some of the staff chilled.

It's not open yet...that pic is from a movie but that is the set up I pictured when i actually saw the space. |

if i ever make it that far west, i'll def. be going to alcatraz. ever since i saw it in the movie "the rock", i've always wanted to check it out.
