No, see, that's a really moving part, but that's not the part that makes me lose it. It's the end, where she finally remembers him, then forgets and freaks out, and it becomes clear to you that he does the exact same thing every day; reads that story to her, gets her to remember it, has five seconds of a wonderful feeling with her before she forgets again and freaks out and tells him to off because he's creepy and doesn't know her.

The guy has never left her side once (well, except when they were young) and isn't even really "admitted" at that home for any good reason. Yet he stays there, puts up with doctors who tell him to off, relives the story of his relationship every day and goes through the feeling of his own wife screaming at him like that just for five or ten seconds of love and she even asks, "How long do I have?" before slipping away again.

Then when he lays down with her and, right before they both fall asleep and die, she remembers him again.

ing tears me apart every time.

:stongue: @ chick flicks.

Only movie that gets me is The Shawshank Redemption... the end scene where he's working on his boat and sees Morgan Freeman walking down the beach (those of you who understand true friendship know what I'm talkin' about!).

*the scene where the old guy gets out of prison and hangs himself is pretty sad, but in a depressing way unlike the clip above.

It's nice to see a lot of TAs showing their human side on here!

I have cried, and do cry during many films, but the most recent one I can remember was Crash. It's a very passionate film about the social and racial issues in L.A., and I cried pretty much throughout the whole movie.

When i watched crash I almost wept. Tears of dissappointment that is, got damn that piece of crap was overhyped.

As for me there've been a few random ones here and there but still the one that stands out the most for me was White Squall. I knew going in it was based on a true story, and I was quite young at the time. Basically, the ship's sinking near the end of the movie, and there's one guy on the ship who's mentally challenged. The crew give him a hard time now and again but they all treat him well iirc, but anyways he'd been having nightmares throughout the movie and so one of the friendly guys on the ship had been helping him, telling him that if he thinks he's in a nightmare...just to say '1, 2, 3, wake up!' and he'll be awake and safe. Its a sweet scene and the guy thinks it'll help. Then later in the movie, that guy's in a room thats at this point 80% full of water and rising just frantically sobbing and yelling 123 wake up over and over in just the most frustrated and defeated voice and oh god it got to me. Like, I think that was the first time I'd seen someone with mental issues and truly comprehended that they did not understand what we did, so that together with realizing that he's dying not understanding why he can't wake up, asdhgajkldgh even now it makes me really sad :(

Also the end of Me and You and Everyone We Know, I think is probably one of the most absolutely perfect endings of a film I've ever seen, but then again I'm like the only person I know who's reached the conclusion I did from watching it, and may in fact be reading too far into it, but I really think its intentional and ing brilliant. That ending definitely had me on the verge of tears the first time I saw it, even the second, and not sadness or anything though, almost enlightenment :p

The first time I saw pan's labyrinth I was a blubbery mess. Even Wall-e was a contender. About Schmidt.

Also way more that are too embarrassing to list here.

Hey, I'm not afraid to admit it. :p

Also, I just watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Really, really depressing movie, but the scene that made my eyes water up was when Bruno falls off of the tire swing and cuts his knee and starts talking to Pavel. :(

Recently watched movies that "got to me"
- Big Fish
- Into The Wild (wasn't generally a big fan of this movie but the friendship with the old grampa close to the end was super touching)

Alltime nr. one cry-movie: Cinema Paradiso.

PS.: I saw people mentioning Milk...I stopped halfway through while trying to watch it yesterday. Unbelievably boring and prententious to the bone (Gus van Sant's way of filming, that is). Oh and the Academy for handing the Oscar to Penn instead of Rourke!
