Actually, he isn't a smoker.

The governments will pass as many laws as they can to make it look like they are doing something meaningful while people lose their houses, jobs, and means of working.

Fixed.

And Jayx I have to say I agree with you. A law is only as meaningful as it is enforced, and frankly these won't be enforced. The police will blitz for 2 weeks so it looks like they are and then they will focus on more pertinent affairs.

Coming up with new bans is basically the only thing the government isnt completely lazy about.

Anyone know what's up with the new taxi nazis out downtown? I was stopped at 10pm last night from hailing a cab opposite union station because apparently union is a new cab stand and cabs aren't allowed to stop for passengers near (but not at) the stand that are trying to get a cab. WTF? Thanks for making me walk down the street alone to get one at 10pm at night after having been at the office for 16 goddamn hours. I don't get it.

And this..well...no one should have alcohol in their system while driving. 21 or 61.

So apparently they want to:

Ban smoking near playgrounds
Ban smoking near bus stops even open air ones (good luck with that one)
Ban most pesticides that are deemed legal to use by health canada (Ontario)
Ban under 21 from having any alcohol in their blood while driving (last i checked the drinking age was 19..but im sure this is the first step to a 21 drinking age)

When people stop doing dumb things then they'll stop making dumb laws.

Yeah yeah

But seriously, what's the big deal? This guy was ing SERIOUS BUSINESS about a taxi stopping for someone on the wrong side of the street. In fact, the taxicop actually shouted at another cab that managed to pick a passenger "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME!" wtf?
