yeah, it was awful. haha. There were a few remixes that were decent, like the Home Video remix (though the original was better), but overall it was wretched. |

| I remember the first 10 minutes of Invol2ver were straight and then it went into 30 minutes of emfire whips and whirring sounds and some guy groaning sexually over what sounded like some incredi loop of Park It In The Shade. |

dj wise? Gosh, I dunno, haven't really been paying attention to many djs or much edm in general. Djs that have piqued my interest are generally TA djs. Adam Vana's pretty solid even if he's a douchenozzle on the forums a bit. |

In my opinion they don't have any direction any more. Neither of them play anything special. They used to make trends and play tracks before they got popular (harder to do what with the internet I know, but it can still be done). They've gotten lazier with age it seems, and I feel it's somewhat understandable. They've made their mark, by now they're just having fun and earning a living which is respectable I suppose. They still move crowds. I think they should've hung it up when they lost artistic direction (somewhere back in 2006, for the both of them), but if you're having fun and not hurting anyone, then whatever.
But to me, the music they play is boring tap water and they're washed up. Simple as that imo. |
wow. with all due respect, i'd have to totally disagree.
sasha and digweed were pioneers (and still are), as well as, continuing to push the envelope today. just because they've gotten older doesn't mean that they aren't continuing to change as artists... their sets have definitely evolved.
they are the gold standard. |

I'm not saying they haven't evolved as artists, I'm just saying they've evolved into lazier artists. Which is to be expected after two decades consistently on tour and producing, it'd be hard for anyone to remain relevant for that long. They play what everyone else plays now though. Digweed sounds like Sasha sounds like Guy J sounds like Guy Gerber sounds like Gui Boratto sounds like Steve Lawler on and on. There's not much interesting stuff coming from them.
This isn't to say I have zero hope for this show, these guys have an incredible collection of music and have great musical minds, and I'm sure they still can throw down from time to time. But by their age and having logged in as many hours as they have, I'd probably just be throwing on whatever and having fun by now as well. |

Your comparing them to the others in their genre...well of course they are gonna sound similar. Even back in their progressive era there was no distinct exclusive sound they had. Just as you compared them to all the techno guys now....well back then they sounded like dave seaman, like nick warren, like quivver, like jimmy van m, etc etc. Many of the tracks they played were being hammered by everyone as well. The guys can rip a seamless set and are masters at good track selection, and programming. The only statment you made that is true is the fact you dont like them as much anymore which is cool. Beyond that i think your being a bit critical of it all.:p |

| I have to say, I think I agree with Ted, Sasha and Digweed are pretty boring. I know I will be ripped for saying it, just like he is. I wanted to like Involver2, but after a few minutes realized it was nothing special. I recognize they are pioneers and the fact that they are together makes it that much more special, but music wise, they don't excite me. To be honest I never liked them. I listened to about 10 minutes of Northern Exposure before I turned it off, never to pick it up again. Even the sets I've heard from them have done nothing for me. Like I said, if it wasn't for the fact that they are legends, and pretty much everyone is going, I wouldn't even consider going most likely. |

You are pretty much a trance only person. Even in the debate going, we are arguing whether they are still pushing music forward in new directions and trying to be unique. The fact you said you couldnt even listen to northern exposure....:conf: |

I have thoroughly enjoyed their sets every time I have seen them. I'm sad to hear some of ya'll find them boring.
They'll be playing 5+ hours hopefully, and this will be a night to remember. I am looking forward to this so much. |
