They'll be playing 5+ hours hopefully, and this will be a night to remember. I am looking forward to this so much.

That is a completely invalid statement. Your comparing them to the others in their genre...well of course they are gonna sound similar. Even back in their progressive era there was no distinct exclusive sound they had. Just as you compared them to all the techno guys now....well back then they sounded like dave seaman, like nick warren, like quivver, like jimmy van m, etc etc. Many of the tracks they played were being hammered by everyone as well. The guys can rip a seamless set and are masters at good track selection, and programming. The only statment you made that is true is the fact you dont like them as much anymore which is cool. Beyond that i think your being a bit critical of it all.:p

The difference between then and now is they were finding the tracks that those other guys were playing and playing them before they were. They were producing the tracks those other guys were playing and playing them before hand. There was a reason to pay attention to them because they were fresh and up front and taking a direction and going with it that others followed. Now they simply wait on Gui Boratto or Guy J to make a track so that they can play it. They used to define the genre they were in moreso than letting others define it for them.

It makes you sad that people find them boring? Why?

in any case, the show should be fun just because of the people that will be there so I'm looking forward to it. If S&D manage to whip up a good set then all the better.

does anyone have a recent set of the two of them together? interested in hearing what they play when together (if it's any different than what they play solo)?

The only thing out there right now is from their boat party at WMC but thats a bit of a different sound then when they play big room together.

Who wants to put some money on hearing Guy J productions at least 3 times over the night?

I have to say, I think I agree with Ted, Sasha and Digweed are pretty boring. I know I will be ripped for saying it, just like he is. I wanted to like Involver2, but after a few minutes realized it was nothing special. I recognize they are pioneers and the fact that they are together makes it that much more special, but music wise, they don't excite me. To be honest I never liked them. I listened to about 10 minutes of Northern Exposure before I turned it off, never to pick it up again. Even the sets I've heard from them have done nothing for me. Like I said, if it wasn't for the fact that they are legends, and pretty much everyone is going, I wouldn't even consider going most likely.

zach... 10 minutes of Northern Exposure! WTF? find out where you left it, pick it back up, turn it back on, and crank it! :)

only kidding of course... obviously, this is truly an instance of "to each their own." I happen to love all the volumes of Northern Exposure. IMO, zero degrees north is a masterpiece. EPIC. timeless.
