20 yrs old and still can't drive without a license holder in the car with me. Is that bad? On the other hand I live in NYC, so driving isn't all that necessary and parking sucks.

my nana (mom's mom) never learned to drive. her response was always, "i'm from new york. we had drivers" lol

yea there's really no point if you live in NY. i wouldn't worry about it... unless you need a car outside of the city or go on a lot of trips where you have to drive.

I never got my license untill i was 18.

When i lived here in the u.s., i got my permit. Then we moved when i was 16 to el salvador, they saw that i had a permit and thought it was a license. So they gave me a pimp government license. Then when i came here at 18, i had to take the stupid driving test for the first time. I was so nervous even though i had been driving for 2 years.

Still only have my permit and yeah, no point in the city.

That's pretty odd, over here at 17 everyone was already driving and had their own cars (bar me). It's really a matter of convenience though, i've never had to drive anywhere far by myself and 99% someone else in my group of friends actually likes to drive.

I got my NY drivers license when I was 17 since my mom forced me to get a drivers license, but never used it until I was 24 when I had to travel for business.

i've been driving since i was 13. used to steal my mom's car with my girlfriend and go joyriding. god i was so ballsy but i just knew how to drive for some reason and couldn't wait to get my license. it was the most important thing to me. i got it on a military base in japan when i was 15/16 and everything was obviously different over there...but then i came back to florida my senior year and i studied and thought i had to take the whole driving test here, but they just made me take an eye exam:wtf: i remember the lady asking me, "oh is it the same over there?" and i was like, "uh yea" and she was like, "yea ok you just need to take ane eye exam" i was like sweet:cool:
