I'd like to see a solution which involves only electronica vinyl rips cause then the relatively little electronica labels won't dare to get involved. They get their living from us vinyl-buyers pockets so they want to keep us happy, and not prevent us from downloading yummy mp3s.

Now it would be good to make a list of all songs that us tranceaddicts have, so that we can estimate if we can set up sumthing on our own. I suggest making a database on some server where people can post anonymously their vinyl rip lists. The database should be alphabetically sorted for ease of access. If it has almost all tracks, we could say goodbye to the cruel world, and share our mp3s on our own.

In case someone's scared about ISP logging their IP, just post the list from a local library or sumthing, so that you can't be traced ;)

That's what I suggest

That's a good idea.
Who's up for it?

LONG LIVE AG!!!!!
I LOVEDDDDD LOVEDD LOVVEEEDDDD AG.... more than any file sharing program, more than any piece of software. I found the highest quality rips, the lastest tunes, it made me love trance.

My interest was created from AG.

THE RIAA...everyone will just use WinMX, then SoulSeek, then SomethingNew, then SomethingNewer.... It's like a Hydra, for every head they cut off, 3 more grow.

Those bastards got themselves into this by sueing Napster, from now on I'm never buying a mainstream CD again, even for a gift for someone. Plus imma burn all of my friends mainstream crap CDs.

LONG LIVE TRANCE! POOP ON FACED RIAA EXECUTIVES!

I thought this was a joke...it was too sad to be true....

I think I'm going to set up my FTP for people as well. We need more sharing!!!!!!

I'm ING PISSED!!!!!!!!

Let the filesharing continue!!!! Sad that they took down AG so fast, yet KaZaA which has more people and is notoriously sending porn, warez, and unblocked songs, is still around. AG BLOCKED MAINSTREAM !!!!!!!!!!!!

U RIAA!

Download Direct Connect

There is NO way to shut Direct Connect down. The following reasons are why:

1) DC consists of Hubs, and any computer with a permanent connection can start a hub.
2) The hubs can be as public or PRIVATE as you want. (e.g. you can have it listed so random people can coe in, or you can have it so that only people with a specific username, password, and IP address can come in)

The only bad part of DC is:

1) If you are on a shared internet connection (e.g. behind a proxy or NAT router) you must use DC in passive mode; Passive users cannot connect to other passive users

But this is not very significant, because odds are that someone in active mode will have the file you are looking for

I know there is a private DC Hub already formed, but alas, I am not in "the loop" for this one. There is a public hub, but it only has like 5 - 10 people actively in it (have your DC client connect to "OLDoMiNiON.kicks-ass.net:411" without the quotes, of course)

If someone could PM me the info on the private DC hub, or at least tell me someone to contact about it, I would be apreciative.

everything is blocked, unless you ask AG to unblock it and you have the rights to the song.
