When rock and roll got big did peopel complain that everyone started playing guitar?

Also, what does 'being a DJ' mean? If someone listens to EDM and buys turntables to start mixing, does that make them a 'DJ' or are they just mixing records for fun?

Like when someone buys a guitar to play in their basement, do we automatically call them a rockstar?
