I think anyone has the right to go after something they TRULY want to do. Now whether this red haired celebrity really wants to dj or not, is another question not worth finding the answer for. What if she got really good at djing? why she should she stop? so someone else could get a gig? if anything that individual has to work even harder to earn a gig a celebrity could easily get. The harder it is for us norms to earn things, the better it does us our confidence. |

So what precisely is your criteria for "really good?" I mean aside from some of the really experimental Richie Hawtin type of techno, the vast majority of DJs just play records. No offense to all the DJs here but it's not really something that requires an enormous degree of talent, just money and time and connections.
Don't try to pretend that your infinitely shallow comment earlier was actually a truly complex analysis of human ambition and scene politics in disguise. You might as well admit that you get a boner every time some moderately attractive chick puts on headphones and fumbles around on a mixer. It's not as though you're giving props for practicing to the 268,000 other struggling DJs who aren't celebrities but are actually good. |
