Reason why so many people hate trance these days is exactly what u quoted, its progressed from the mid nineties and these people instead of evolving with the scene they've been stuck in the 99 era like a grumpy old fart stood at a queue in the post office waiting for his pension. if u think trance is cheese then go listen to some rnb or mo town instead u narrow minded ****S

Plenty of people think the "'99 era" was when trance started going downhill. I personally prefer this sort of stuff:
That's from 1993. Today's trance sounds pretty limp and uninspired next to that, IMO. ;)

thats not my prefered type of trance but im not taking anything away from it, its what trance used to be and i respect that, but unlike other people on here im not going to slate it and tell them what trance is really all bout, personally i think the trance track's these days are amazing much to your disaproval but i dont really care, not everyone likes the same style

most 1993-1997 trance tracks were re-done in 1999
anyways i think 1999 was a great year in trance why cus it was my first year brings bk good memorys and good times for me anyways :)

Here is a track I would consider trancey from the beginning of the year...i think there is still good stuff out there if you search for it...
I think some of us including myself are living in the past.... there were some amazing tracks back in the day that are not coming out today. Don't get me wrong, there are some gems that have been released recently, but back then it was amazing. Most everything was original and just hit you like a ton of bricks. In today's day and age, with million + dj's the quality is never going to be the same that came out that long ago.
It is what it is, I love most all of my old music I have, and very rarely do I get anything new that I like, but I do sometimes get new stuff that I really like. Some younger generations have an easier time moving to the new genre some of us 30+ have a harder time adjusting and thats not because the music isn't great, it's just we (or me if I should speak for myself) have a different pallete for music.
Yes I do think we are hanging to some old times.... my teens were in the 90's and I almost dislike everything new, but I keep and open mind and I listen and I discard, but sometimes, there is that one killer track that takes me back to the old days.

I still find tracks from 1995 that ive never heard before that i just think ing rock. from 1999 and 2002 too. Its just since 2005 or something stuff has been really terrible imo. But im positive, dj sets now adays starts to sound abit more energetic and deep again, not just ploinks and wooshes or ing terrible overcompressed cheezedoodles. Its about time the old djs die to give space for the new ones. They had their 15 years now and their old, they should fokus on designing fancy gear or something, run a label or whatever. Not have others running the label for them.
