Alcohol/hang overs and hearing

I've often noticed after a big night out that my hearing is a lot clearer. I'm able to distinguish detail in music a lot more effectively and beatmatching is more effortless. I also find an increased enjoyment of music at times.

Anyone else experience this or have an explanation for it?

I'm not talking about still being drunk, either. I had perhaps eight drinks last night and I'm sober as a bird right now, but I'm definitely noticing a change in my perception.

Alcohol relaxes you and also affects sinuses/hearing canals, so perhaps there is a fairly easy explanation?

u probably just had a good night out and therefore inspired.

Nope. I spent the whole night sitting on an open-air deck with no music. ;)

i think i get the most inspired after nights with no music.

It might sound emo, but sometimes i find that the best way to step forward is to take a step back.
PLUR.

I often find myself doing my mixes on sundays after a good drinking session the night before.. You may be onto something, altho i think the whole inspiration thing is probably more plausable in my case..

I always play good when I've had heaps of whizz.:toothless

Heh. I could see how that sentence could be misunderstood.

I meant that when I take whizz and play I think I'm doing really well but I'm actually not. I'm quite sure the same applies to you.

Tip: never get on beatport in said state. I bought like fifteen tracks then woke up the next morning and was like "what the is this ?!"

lol. I've done that a few times. Getting crap tunes thinking they were brilliant coz I was in a rotten state. I don't do it often these days but generally when I've had good goey I find my mixing and track selections to be much sharper. Most other drugs make my playing worse but I guess everyone is different.
