Roll Call: MILK IT! DJ Addy, Kenny Glasgow, Dj Rudee, Paranoid Jack

I can't be the only one excited to see Addy returning to the decks on a more regular basis these days: The tribal Elevate events (4 on 2 with Deko-Ze? Nice! I want the MP3!!), an appearance last week at FILM kicking out some wicked tunes on their brand new sound system (and it sounds WICKED), and now a return to long weekend madness at Basement. That--and maybe I'll finally get to hear the legendary Kenny Glasgow spin.

Some hype material:

And one of my favourite el Duran sets (featuring a few of Paranoid Jack's productions too) -- Busted Driver:

I think basement is a contender for one of the best sound systems in the city right now--even with FILM lounge's massive upgrades (which are good--believe me). That reminds me...remember the legendary system at SONIC? Ahh, audio bliss. I hear that system is safely locked away in a storage garage, awaiting an epic return... in the meantime, we've got Basement's wicked system and our locals to rock the holiday Monday! It's going to be a long drive after heading up to Wasaga Beach to hear Cam Maxwell open and close for Benny Benasi (*bonkers*)

For the love of bagok, who's in?!

We've been looking forward to Milk IT for over a month now. It's going to be a dope jam, specially with a lot of old friends attending...

I love the cow flyer. I printed it off and added it to my huge flyer wall :)

ok..maybe they upgraded..but No way!

the first and last time I went into this place, they were showing the Christopher Lawrence Video On the screen. there was the D.J ( no names..he's pretty good) and maybe 6 people in the entire place. ..yeah I know I support wherever I can...Never again!

Hmm, I know the venue gives access on different nights to a variety of promotional groups. Sunday mornings were KICKING there last year...in fact, I think it was victoria day long weekend last year that the place was rammed to capacity with Addy headlining. It sort of waned off which was too bad, imo, as an alternate to zone (whatever the mood might take). I guess my point is, every venue has those dead nights/days...but a christopher lawrence video on a screen? Basement has a screen? I'm guessing a one off event?

My advice is to try everything at least twice and pick you party carefully--but you know that eh.

Still maintaining that it's one of the best sound systems I've heard in the city lately, and I know Addy will drive a crowd. So it's on like donkey kong for me! And if it ain't completely rammed to the , more room to dance. booyah!

yeah, I mean, any good photographer/photoshop guy can make even the corner store look like a good club.... but yeah, basement has had some SIC parties. So I'm definitely looking forward to this....hopefully I can drag my ass from Cam's wasaga party to this after a weekend of camping. What a weekend cometh!!

I guess most nightclubs have a few (for lack of a better term) "ASS" parties and some "DOPE" ones. We're very proud of being a diverse venue and hosting a wide range of parties such as true underground techno, electro, latino cumbia, synth-pop, ebm, retro & alternative, psy-trance, fetish masquerade, commercial dance, dubstep, disco, drum & bass, and soulful & deep house.. Naturally some of these events have been a huge hit and some a miss, never know until you try!

We usually don't like taking pics of the walls, but here is a link to some great events we have hosted in the past. Can't wait to turn on the camera at our Milk It event on Victoria day.

The weekend is shaping up nicely! Sunny on Monday! Not that it matters when you're in the dark listening to pounding beats.

Does anyone have any recent Kenny Glasgow (solo) sets they can post?
