| mm chicane. great tracks. anyone own the offshore ep?am intresting in hearing the3 ep tracks i got out bid at the last moment. both thrillseekers mixs of saltwater are nice though the ambient one is better then the house one.i don't recomend disco citizens right here right now, didn't enjoy it much sounds like a early version of strong in love. |

Yes, i love it too.. and btw Slylee, Chicane did actually 3 mixes of Furry Phreaks feat. Terra Deva - Soothe:
Chicane jazz mix 8:22 --> starts and ends with ambience, in the middle smooth solid beats.
Chicane deep end dub 7:21 --> this sure is deeper: dark atmosphere, sweeping melodies and pumping bass
cyanide ride 6:07 --> the best, ambient version
And Slylee, yes, Behind The Sun is the full album, there is no track called that. Oh well, almost all the best Chicane trax have been mentioned, but u should try also
Chicane - Offshore ´97 (A Man Called Adam remix) 9:03, it gives the track a little jazz kind of feeling, more groove..
Everything But The Girl - Before Today (Chicane remix) 6:24, very chilled track, nice, a bit sad atmopshere in this tune
Luce Drayton - To Be Loved (Disco Citizens remix) 7:01, very similar to Disco Citizens mix of Offshore '97, only with better vocals IMO
BT - Flaming June (Chicane remix) 9:20, similar to the original mixes, but Chicane adds his atmosphere into the track
Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (album) which has absolutely beautiful trax, Part II of that series is very cold and dark ambient.
LSG - Into Deep (album) includes nice chillout trax. |

you've come to the right place to ask about Chicane
since Jah and i are already Chicane whores (i'm also an uplifting vocal trance whore!)
my fav song of all time...
and Jah was talking about this song earlier (Jah, how do YOU know it's called Mojave?)
the Mojave song was ripped from this live set called
Chicane - Live At Palladium (2001 i think?) which is absolutely one of the best ing live sets i've heard.. very uplifting, starts up with halcyon, gets into the trance remix of saltwater, plays this hard to find remix of don't give up, then plays hard to find songs like mojave...

Disco Citizens "Footprint" (Sonic Original) is his best work IMO.
Salt Tank & Chicane "Pueblo Blanco" (Mea Culpa Remix) is a ing beauty, very much Salt Tank style. I also like the DJ Quicksilver mix of "Sunstroke".
Also, try stuff by Tomski who has co-produced several Chicane tracks and vice versa:
Tomski "Love Will Come" (Original Mix)
Tomski "14 Hours To Save The Earth" (Trouser Enthusiasts Sci Fi Mix)
Qattara "The Truth" (Tomski Remix)

chicane was my first true love in the electronic music.... he got me in to trance and his song saltwater is still my favorite production of all time....
anyways he's kinda kept low since his last CD but last summer he co-produced
Mr Joshua presents Espritu - In Praise of the Sun
he's done the music to the new Formula One Playstation 2 game and also helped produce two songs on chers latest album. he had one tour date in manila back in march and right now there are rumors he is working on a new CD. |

ive got a copy of leaving town on CD :) not all the remixes though, ive got every salt tank and chicane project ever produced. iIm very good friends with david gates of salt tank and the next release from them is the orrinoco sessions. :D love all their stuff. if anyone wants any salt tnak stuff on CD, i can get you signed copies easily, however theres not many left, but i have 3 sets of all their work. let me know if your interested people. :) |
