Anyway, I would go for free. The crowd for Deadmau5 for Armin NYE was insane too, it was pretty much a mosh pit...guess everyone wants to wear those mouse ears!

I just hope they remodeled the Palladium halfway decent. Last time I was there for Tiesto (a loong time ago), the sound and most everything about the place was crap...

I saw him the first time he came to LA when he played at Circus. I don't belive he had any external hard ware set up but then again I could be mistaken. Also, the set that he played that night did not sound live.

Everytime I've seen him since it's all been with whatever equipment he uses for his sets and I have a hard time getting in to him.

Although, he did rock when I saw him in Vegas back in November.

I hate to be a sour puss, but I've lost all types of respect for this guy...I've seen him 2x blown away the first time the 2nd was "egh" and then I hear this...

"It puts me to ing sleep, to be quite honest; I don’t really see the technical merit in playing two songs at the same speed together and it bores me to ing tears and hopefully, with all due respect to the DJ type that will ing go the way of the dinosaur, I'd like them to dis-a-ing-pear! It's so middle man, they’re like ing lawyers! You need them, but they’re ing ****s. God bless them, they’re my number one customer right, so I’m not gonna go dis every ing DJ. But to say you become this massive, "up on a podium" performer by playing other peoples productions, at the same speed as someone else's productions and fading between the two of them, I don’t get it...”

The worst part about that quote is how he uses the "F" word like it makes him sound more hip.

But thanks for sharing. There are a few DJs who I refuse to see because of "DIVA" reasons, and if that's a true quote by him, count him in too. WHere is that quote from? Just so I can always knwo where he said it ;P

A couple other examples include Roger Sanchez and also Erick Morillo. Roger can be good, but never will I do anything to support him on a peronal level after what he did to C Lawrence, and beyond Erick being one of the most well known "DIVA" DJs, I just think most of the stuff he plays is boring. And the good tracks he does play...well, it's basically the tracks tons of other DJs play too.

That said, I completely understand why promoters book these DJs. As much as as the business invovles passion, it is still a business in the end and sometimes it's worth dealing with it all. While at one time I would totally frown on the promoters who would book DJs like this, these days I've just learned enough to understand it all.

If I recall, though, last time Morillo played in SF the ticket prices completely insane and I believe the night bombed. Think he played at Temple?

Man, you got me at my own thing...I'm usuallt the A'Hole saying there's a thing called "Google" lol

From one A-Hole (not in the manner that is implied in Team America, lol) to obviously another, I can respect your reply HAH

LOL that was a funny link >.< Yeah I saw it on wiki originally then when I saw that looked into it. To be honest I was kind of afraid to post it bc of people that would probably defend him. I was at Virgin Records one time and some guy was trying to help me find some stuff and he recommended deadmau5 to me then I told him why I don't like deadmau5 and he became more interested in what I was saying and kind of got offended because deadmau5 is a heavy influence on him and then he kind of lectured me about it all and how i should respect deadmau5 and all this and that. I didn't want the same reaction here lol but it all. Anyhow, this is me boycotting him. Call me a hater but there are talented people with far more passion that deserve to be where he is/was and I hope to see them there one day. But at the same time business is business, and we can't get away from these types anyway. At least we can spread the word ;)

that is a pretty old quote....and he doesn't seem as 'diva' these days. but to each his own----no one can please everyone.

I don't understand, he doesn't consider himself a dj? if not then what is he? what does he do different? doesn't he play 2 tracks together during transitions and adding different track layers to each other?

his music in my opinion is very 'pop' and it's fun a lot of times but it seems too 'canned'.

i ended up haveing to work the show last night and it def made the top 5 best shows i have seen this year ( i have seen 52 live acts this year so far, of all types of music... not cus i am rich, but b/c i have to work) the crowd was amazing, everyone was happy and way into it... Deadmau5 did a pretty kick ass job too... a little slow at times but sampling FBS and Daft in the same set is a plus by me. i wanna kick the booker and tell him to book more like this... though i know LN didnt make off of drink sales cus everyone there was <18.
