Hi. I got a hackintosh as well. Running a e6600 quad cpu + 8 gigs of ram. Using apogee duet and running logic 9. Got tired of cubase and windows after so many years. I get about 5165 geekbench score, sometimes a bit more. I am on mac osx 10.5.8 updated straight from apple..

did you do a retail install of osx or did you use something like iPC?
DJDIRTY
Retail osx, using boot 123 method. That way you can update straight from apple website, but I am sure you know that.. Works like a charm..

ive been wanting to try a retail install but it seems like a lot more work than installing iPC as im still very new to this and require a lot of assistance when something breaks. i had a hell of a time learning how to install kexts.

It's wierd cause I asked her and she just laughed and said to tell you don't worry and that it happens to lots of people?

After using OSX for 7 months, 8 hours a day for work, I cannot stand it.

It feels so nice coming home to use either Linux of Windows, especially win7.

So I went about and tried to find if anybody else had Windows running on their mac mini's. Well I found: guide

The guide was really good, but I ran into a few problems.

trying to repartition the drive was a pain, as OSX wouldn't move some files to shrink the volume.  I followed a couple of the work arounds in the guide, but they didn't work.  After becoming frustrated I did it the hard way, and formated the entire thing.  Here are the steps I took to get boot camp to work:

  1. made a time machine back up for my files (just good common sense)

  2. inserted the OSX install disk, and restarted the computer to begin the install procedure

  3. formated two partitions using the disk utility built into the install disk, one for OSX one for Windows.

  4. Installed OSX

  5. Then i proceeded to step 6 in the above guide, and it worked well.

A couple of things didn't work out of the box.

  • dual monitors didn't work, solved  by doing windows updates which installed the correct Nvidia drivers

  • Aero (the nice new UI) wasn't enabled, again solved by installing correct drivers

Now I have a fully functioning Windows 7 environment,  on a Mac.  w00t

I bought the macbook pro 13" and have been running osx Snow leopard on it. It runs incredibly smooth and i haven't had any problems with it.
