honestly though, i don't like that serena beats her in everything. it seems only fair. i've been a williams fan for a while though so makes sense. too bad she wasn't able to do well here. |
im just pulling your leg you know that :p |

i am pretty shocked nadal lost. then again, he was going for #5 in a row. that number may have been playing in his head this whole week, and played a bit cocky down the stretch. but yes. it's now or never for federer, unless he loses to another up and comer. |

"I have to accept my defeat as I accepted my victories: with calm. I need to learn, and you learn more when you lose than when you win. This is not a tragedy, losing here in Paris. It had to happen one day, and this is an excellent season for me. Of course it's a bit sad, but I have to overcome this as quickly as possible."
talk about taking a loss like a champ.

Federer needs to win this. Come on, Roger, don't you Pete Sampras me now. |

Federer will need to up his game if he's to have a realistic chance of winning this tournament. If someone like Tommy Haas (no offence, decent player, but not as good as he used to be) can take 2 sets off Federer and push him like he did in the 3rd set, then someone in the top 10 would probably beat him.
Fair play though, showed some fighting quality and at least changed his gameplan up in order to win the match. Something Nadal couldn't do.
Draw opened up nicely for Murray here, but he'll still need to win against a couple of good clay-courters if he's to make the final. A Murray - Federer would be awesome though.
Safina is demolishing everything she's playing against right now, but I've rarely seen one player dominate a grand slam without at least having a slight hiccup somewhere along the way. Her's is still to come. |
