Man U is a common term, used nearly everywhere south of manx, in fact you hear some of the more loose tongued commentators even use the term. Know what you mean though about true local fans - they don't really refer to MU as anything other than united. They don't even bother with the Man bit (as the other uniteds don't count ;) )

Right, i was referring to real match going fans and not foreign Ronaldo fan boys who claim to be fans but haven't taken the time to learn about the history of the club or Manchester in general. Those people generally refer to it as Man U, but not matchgoing supporters or those who aspire to be them.

dudes,

OK no ManU, then Manchester or United whatever.... the deal here is (was) about the game. Messi, Henry, Iniesta, Eto'o,... too much for that right side of the United defense.
Let's hope we can watch a great game. Good luck to all.

MU have got the greatest Welsh player to ever have graced the pitch, and you're betting on barca!

Giggs is honestly one of the greatest payers of all time (period) and I think he's going to give Barca some real trouble..

Not to mention Renaldo, Shrek, etc.

i shed a tear when chelsea lost..what a steal of a game, oh well. I would much rather see barca win it than pu-nited!

It looks like Man United have the edge because Barca are missing three starting defenders, but you never know what is going to happen in a one off match like this. An obscure player could rise to the occasion or someone could make a boneheaded mistake and concede a penalty, or get red carded, all of which can change the trajectory of a match.

All things considered, Barca are going to probably try and replicate their performances against Chelsea and try to sneak a goal here and there. They will not be wise to attack, as Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tevez and co are strong on the counter. See the goal they scored against Arsenal at Emirates in the CL semi.

Man United will have a very strong bench to include Scholes and Giggs, incase they need to manufacture a goal after the 60 minute mark.

Should be a crackin game.

I am going to take this opportunity to root against the Yankees of the football world..... Mancheter United!! Somehow everyone in Southern California is a die hard Manchester United fan..... I'm not sure how that works exactly.

In any case, it should be a great match. Will be at Dubliner's!

Manchester United is one of the most storied clubs in the world, this team is good, but NO WHERE near the 1999 Manchester United team! That being said this should be an AWESOME match.

CR7, there is ONLY one Ronaldo. (Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima)"O Fenomeno"

Probably because the English league is followed by more people in most non Spanish speaking countries. Its even making significant inroads in South America these days with all the Brazilians and Argies who play or have recently played in the Prem.

There is only one Ronaldo these days, and its Cristiano. Fat Ron is back in South America and was famously outed for trying to hook up with a transvestite call girl who he thought was a girl. More recently, he is being investigated by the local cops for pulling another players hair during a match.

He has rediscovered his goal scoring touch in the Brazilian league of late though and will probably get called up before the world cup as Brazil's current squad are the weakest in recent memory.

One of the better videos on the net covering their road to last year's CL.

I really hope United's bus crashes into a giant sinkhole and everyone on board dies a horrible flaming death. I'm talking the kind where they have to break out dental records to figure out who's who.

Vamos Barca...don't it up

I understand why Americans would follow an EPL team as opposed to a team in a non-English speaking country. But why pick Man United? It's the bandwagon pick - the most talented team with the highest payroll. I'm curious to see how many die-hard fans will still be fans in 10 years when a different team is on top in the EPL....
