There is only one Ronaldo these days, and its Cristiano. Fat Ron is back in South America and was famously outed for trying to hook up with a transvestite call girl who he thought was a girl. More recently, he is being investigated by the local cops for pulling another players hair during a match.

He has rediscovered his goal scoring touch in the Brazilian league of late though and will probably get called up before the world cup as Brazil's current squad are the weakest in recent memory.

Until Cristiano achieve what the REAL Ronaldo has achieved, I'll think about calling him Cristiano Roanldo.... Until then, he's just Cristiano........

I understand why Americans would follow an EPL team as opposed to a team in a non-English speaking country. But why pick Man United? It's the bandwagon pick - the most talented team with the highest payroll. I'm curious to see how many die-hard fans will still be fans in 10 years when a different team is on top in the EPL....

Probably not too many, although Football has become quite international during the past decade and big clubs like Man Utd, Barca, Real Madrid, and to a lesser extent Bayern, AC Milan, and Juventus will always have a significant amount of international support since matches are now broadcast globally whereas as recently as a decade ago it was much more difficult for people to follow the big clubs on a regular basis.

He's already achieved everything Fat Ron has at the club level. League Winner, Champions League Winner, European Player of the Year, World Player of the Year, World Club Champion.

Exactly. Most, if not all, United fans are nothing more than glory hunters. My favorite joke:

Where's the worst place to hide from a United fan? America.
Where's the best place to hide from a United fan? Manchester.

Dude...Brazilian Ronaldo was just a flash in a pan. He had one maybe two good World Cup seasons and an "ok" run with AC Milan. What is he doing now? Absolutely nothing. As much as it pains me to say this, Cristiano Ronaldo is a much MUCH better footballer...some say best in the world. Not me though :p

Yes I am, but we're not glory hunters. We haven't won the league in...what...18 years now? :stongue:

Next season baby, NEXT SEASON IT'S ON!! Only lost 2 games all season this year and we still finished 2nd. Our lack of squad depthg is infuriating

You've had a great year. 86 points is LFC's best league total in recent memory. You do need more squad depth, which I'm sure Rafa will address in the summer. Probably through Gareth Barry and a central defender to replace Hyppia. Also need a proper striker to do the business in case Torres gets hurt.

Are you kidding, a "flash in a pan"?? Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima is the greatest scorer in World Cups, that is just to begin telling you how big Ronaldo is. He scored amazing goals with Barça, Inter and R Madrid until injuries kept up with him, just look them up in You Tube. CR7 is very good, but in no way can compare himself to the "real" Ronaldo.

Visca el Barça i Visca Catalunya

Fat Ron was certainly not a flash in the pan. He was the best player in the world for a few years during the mid nineties. That said, the only way he should be called "The Real Ronaldo" is because he played for Real Madrid. Today's he's a mere shadow (or two) of what he was in the 90s.

Although shorthanded, I'll be cheering for Barca to pull this one out. MU is great, but I just can't get myself to root for them.
