Cubase 5 help needed!
View this Thread in Original format
Theran
Hi there,

Since a couple of days I've been experiencing come problems with C5. When opening the program the 'splash' screen seems to be loading all settings. But suddenly, when it starts loading 'SSE optimized audio DSP library' the splash screen closes and nothing happens!

Can somebody help me out here, I already contact Steinberg and posted at Cubase.net but haven't got a response yet, and I need the damn thing to work!

If 'SSE optimized audio DSP library` comes from an installed plugin i would uninstall that and try again.

Thanks man, but I think it comes from Cubase itself. I've read some things about that it loads the audio engine, so I though, maybe it it was the soundcard, but re-installing it didn't help at all!

If it was from a plugin, I wouldn't know which one. I haven't changed the system settings at all, it just suddenly stopped working.

I don't have a clear answer for you, sorry. But I had some similar issues with my C5 shortly after purchase some months ago. It worked fine at first, but after a few weeks, some problems suddenly occurred for some reason, but when I installed the update it all worked fine again. So, perhaps you should install the newest update for C5?

Thanks, but I already tried that. I'm getting a bit desperate here, can't contact Steinberg by phone. I really need the damn thing to work ;)

But thanks!

Thanks for the help man! Really appreciate it! Already saw that post and it didn't work for me.

Really getting sick of this BS, and Steinberg doesn't seem to respond anywhere. I really don't like to to a complete re-install of my DAW.

Are you using an old AMD processor by any chance ?

No, I'm running a 2x 2,8 Intel Xeon CPU. C5 worked fine a week ago, all of the sudden, it doesn't..

Try removing the Asio folder in the Programs Files/Steinberg/

Thanks m8, already tried that as well. Think I'm gonna do a full systam re-install..... REALLY hating this ;)

Before you do a complete re-install. Try and install a previous Cubase version (SX3 or 4? ) and see if the problem persists. I just thought because if it all runs fine there, you can rule out potential hardware problem (audio card etc) and vst/vsti -plugins that might cause problems. :)

I feel you man, doing a complete re-isntall should be the absolute last resort. Installing all the vst/vsti takes ages... A pure hell. :whip: xD
