I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here.
It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals.
Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equillibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not.
You move to an area and you multiply. You multiply until every natural resource is consumed. And the only way you can survive to to spread to another area.
There is another organism on this planet that follows this same pattern. Do you know what it is?

A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague. And we are the cure.

If the life of a human being was given a purpose, a meaning, it was not to elevate ourselves above each other in terms on conquest, submission or territory control. It is to continue to spread and not be limited by whatever resource Earth has given us. There will come a time following 2 full cycles of generations starting from the current one in which the sheep will all die and wolves will have no choice but to each each other, leaving no longer, humans an existing species.

As a grandfather, I'd like the peace of mind that even if I am surrounded by death on my home planet, that my bloodline will continue somewhere out there in the universe. If it is our subconscious will to spawn and reproduce, is this not satisfied even if the spawn is not in this galaxy?

Isn't at least some of that from a film?
SuspicionVandit
The first half is from Sleepless in Seattle. The second half is my own opinion.
Slylee
yea i was gonna ask what movie that is from lol
MrJiveBoJingles
LOL, it's from The Matrix, not Sleepless in Seattle. :haha:
Zoso
Agent Smith from The Matrix.

On topic: the biggest problem isn't that people can't have babies -- most adults still can. It's that many of them won't. They just don't want to, to the degree that some European countries are experiencing a decline in population, and many more would be except for the fact that they have fertile Muslim immigrants moving in.

As much as people might hail population decline as an "environmental benefit," it's going to make it quite difficult to sustain traditional old age and unemployment benefits systems as the ratio of non-working to working citizens continues to increases. You can't have it both ways: either you need to have babies or you have to go without a social welfare system.

Trying simultaneously to not have kids and sustain such a system is a recipe for bankruptcy.

lol nice
