been told will be in my area in july £35 a month with phone very nice indeed
on 20mb atm get max speeds so 50mb should be amazing been told it takes 15 secs to upload 99mb what should be good

cool... i dont know what my speed is officially 'as advertised' but I get 1.5-2MBps on downloads...
Its nice, can dl like 700mb in a couple minutes. :D |

no, i am in the US actually on Comcast.
Its not 2mb, its 2MB... so actually its 16Mb according to google. That actually sounds about right. I think its 16/2 on the medium tier plans.
They are offering 50/16 and I think higher as well though... |

| I remember reading a couple of years ago that the Japanese were close to introducing a broadband connection so quick that it could download faster than a hard disk could write the data it was receiving... |

1 Byte = 8 bits
1Mbps = 1,000,000 bits per second
1MBps = 125,000 bytes per second
I get 10 Mbps with ATT U-verse, consistent speed as opposed to Cable. Fastest offering in my area IS comcast at 18 or 25 or something, but according to people who have it rarely reaches that speed. ATT also has a 18Mbps package. |

I've got a 100mb fiber-optic connection here.... works out at about £50 per month.
I've yet to find a site where I can download at crazy speeds though. most I've ever got is 4mb on torrents and fast downloads from Apple and Microsoft.
UK internet is slow and a rip off. |

I'm stuck on bt until my house sells & this week they've admitted throttling internet at peak times so youtube barely works as a way to 'allow more people to enjoy the internet'
I miss my 256k adsl back in 2000. It was faster lol |

| I hear Virgin Broadband are currently trialling 200Mb speeds in Kent, UK. If that's the case, then it shouldn't be too long before a consumer roll-out is in order. |
