When you start to really believe in survival of the fittest, it precludes any sympathy for people in less than fortunate living conditions. Especially if no one really forced them to live like that and it's entirely due to their lack of intelligence / ability to cooperate with each other to fix their own conditions. I have a feeling many of those starving people would be starving if we switched places with them. They'd eventually end up starving and we'd eventually end up not starving because we're not stupid and we could find ways around such squalid poverty and into humane living conditions because we're human.
They might be the same species, but they're not human beings like us. You have men who are like animals and civilized men who are like gods (compared to the animals). |

I'd like to share this neat gem with you guys for being such a great resource for trance. HOME will help you expect the rapid changes our world will go through, and how you can help make the change for the better.
Few points about HOME:
-movie/documentary about Earth.
-goal is to inform public on certain unnoticed or under-noticed problems.
-GORGEOUS landscape scenes; entire movie is aerial-shot with HD cameras.
-rich music with powerful narration
-main topics include the scope of damage caused by pollution, fuel consumption, and poverty.
-90 minutes
-free to view on youtube from june 5 - 14; sells on DVD afterward
-first 20 minutes talks about Earth's history from an evolutionist point of view (so you can skip that section if uninterested or already know it)
Some key facts from HOME (cited from credible sources in their home page under "HOME in figures"):
-20% of the world's population consumes 80% of the resources
-1 billion people have no access to safe drinking water, another billion are starving
-40% of all arable/farmable land are significantly or permanently degraded
-13 million hectares (bigger than Mississippi) of forest disappear every year
-1 mammal in 4, 1 bird in 8, 1 amphibian in 3 are all threatened with extinction
-species are dying out 1,000 times faster than the natural rate of extinction in the past years
-75% of all fisheries products are exhausted, depleted, or in danger of being so
-the ice caps lost 40% of its thickness in the past 40 years
If you like the movie, feel free to spread the word. What do you think about it? |
This is cool though, I guess you get a pass. It's not garbage like 99.99% of topics like this. You're still a fag. Until you prove you aren't.
Welcome, fag. |

Although I agree that the more educated groups will thrive, there's a connection I don't entirely agree with. Does a lack of education really cause poverty, or is it the other way around? |

My friend, I might sound terrible for typing this, and I will say right now that I don't apologize for feeling this way even if you hate me for saying it.
There is no education when it comes to intelligence. The smartest kid in the class would get it if he studied on his own (even without a text book, just by experimenting in a logical manner) or had a bad teacher. With a good teacher, he will go very far but he's still OK even if disadvantaged compared to the kids who just. don't. get. it.
Either you get it and will discover and create useful inventions to better yourself, or you won't. In this society, we are giving advanced tools and ideas to people who otherwise never would have had access to them because these people are related to us or are the descendants of our friends and equals.
However, before the education, what existed? Intelligence, ingenuity, innovation. All 3 are inherently within someone. Don't forget not being lazy.
Lack of intelligence or lack of hard-work can cause poverty and some people are just destined to be impoverished. |
