OK, so me and the man were going to book a trip to Mexico, but now with all the advisories against US citizens travelling there, we may choose another destination.

any suggestions?

we are basically looking for gorgeous beaches and a decent nightlife. We dont really want one of those remote, uber-quiet places!

thanks!!

go to aruba. it is a very nice island.

you can also go to barbados, st thomas and bahamas.

bahamas would probably have the best night life and the atlantis hotel is amazing!

Haha I keep telling you that I will go with you!! Haha! Just pay for the flight, hotel, and drinks and I'm there!! Hahaha!

And just because I was in toronto a few years, doesn't make me a bonafide canadian :) I'm and american! Check the profile....I'm simply and "honourary" torontonian via my long time spent there ;)

I haven't been following the swine flu news lately. Is it still a big issue down there?

I was down in Mexico over X-mas and had such a sick time. Great beaches / activities, and some great nightlife options.

There might even be specials, hell drinks might even be free down there considering no one is going down there. It seems as though the swine flu seems to be more of a problem in China. Holding up Mayor Ray Nagin for three days, they dont play over there.

just go to mexico! it's dirt cheap atm, and the chances of getting anything are very low. Moreover, you're young and healthy. even if you get the flu it wouldn't be any worse than the normal flu. looking at the big picture, something like 200 peeps have died from the swine flu, and tens or hundreds of thousands die from the seasonal flu every year. after taking a step back to look at the big picture, the swine flu is nothing more than the flu with a cute name.
