it didn't really but the ICL is pretty much dead now after the ICC and BCCI flexed their muscles and allowed an 'amnesty' to cricketers who left it. the BCCI are s though and the ICC are pandering to every whimper. There was a tv dispute in india and one channel which got messed around began their own league (icl) then the IPL happened. In that league, theres only allowed to be 4 non indian players in your side at any time.

20/20 itself is simple, it's aimed at people who dont think they have the time to watch a 50 overs match. Matches can be held after work hours etc. I don't like the indian thing of tarting it up that they/the south africans used and now its come here, stupid dancers & antics etc detracting from the game itself.

yeah, dont get me wrong, I even used to play ball as a kid, and ofcourse it takes form to drive a ball 400 feet. Just trying to raise some pro-cricket sentiment hehe. Comparing the batting specifically however, I do think that baseball is more one dimensional than cricket. To open yourself up to take a full swing in cricket is very risky thing to do, and the 360 versus 90 degrees of hitting space allows for more possibilities. But then again, you got elements strategic bunts and gaps for base hits in baseball as well, plus strategic baserunning.

I definitely agree with you about the batting. I'm still learning the nuances of cricket, but I know enough to enjoy following the sport.

Why do you call a home run a six? ing Brits.

it's worth six runs. Why a 'home' run? :p

Because when you hit it to the stands, the batter runs through all 3 bases then back to "Home" plate. Thus, a Home Run.

And equally so, when we hit it into the stands, its worth six runs, hence a six. Now we're all happy.. Except Omega M, he didn't expect to lose to us.

i thought this was a cricket thread, but then found out you were talking 20/20 instead.

I watch a bit of this stuff as it's on late in the evening here, but when the tests in SA or UK are on I'll probably be up until 3am watching most days.
Last ashes series in england was awesome, followed by a very dissappointing return series in oz.

so true. Test match is the true ultimate skills form of the game. T20 is funny but nothing beats the attrition and real test of ability tests bring.

Also agree on the last series down under. Fletcher made some really unpopular choices and we totally ed it up
Sweet Death
You should just play Baseball like the rest of the world.
